Cupra R - interior lights come on heavy braking?

recently i have noticed that all my interior lights which are set to come on when i open the door (front and rear) come on if i brake slightly harder than normal or take a corner very agressively. im not too worried about the aggressive cornering one, but the braking one happens alot and its becoming extremely annoying.

i did a search (admittedly a limited one) but couldnt find anything about it on the forum, ive had to resort to turning all the lights to "always off" but that isnt ideal when getting in/out of the car at night.

has anyone else experienced this, what are the likely causes and how do i fix it?

thanks in advance for any advice,

Sean

A loose conection or faulty switch somewhere :(
Sounds like when under some G force its shorting somewhere and making the circuit for the lights.
Check all the conections to the door switches and interior switch, clean them up and re-install i reckon.

I would imagine its one of door switches making the car think a door is open

so when i brake all the doors are "open"? must be a faulty or loose connection somewhere, but i wouldnt have thought it would be on all 4 doors at the same time unless one faulty connection is causing them all to flicker

Why would it have to think all doors are open ?
Surely if you open one door the interior light comes on ?

thought if you opened the front doors only the roof-centre light came on, but if you opened the rear doors the light over said door comes on? these come on aswell during braking

I would have Seat look at it, you don't want electrical problems causing further damage like melting your wiring loom. Get it looked at asap!!

My first stop would be to check the door swtiches, and make sure they arn't sticking/broken

christ, that doesnt sound pleasant. il have to organise a trip to my local stealers, but the ones near me majority of the time ive heard cars come out worse than they go in so i may need to travel :(

il check over the connections and see if i have anything obviously loose or shorting before i go the stealer route...other than this minor niggle everything else is perfect no other electrical issues anywhere

It's unlikely to melt the loom, high load through the loom will pop a fuse first. The only way I've know a loom to set alight is when a grommet it missing and has worth through the tape and sheaf, causing a short on the chassis.
