Hi,

Can the indicator noise be turned off? It's loud and I hate it! Same for when headlights are on and the key is taken out and door opened.

Also can the low fuel BEEP be turned off too? Infact can the BEEP for everything be turned off? I recently had low washer fluid and it did my head in every time the car wasn't dead level.

Im hoping these can be turned off via vagcom?

Thanks!

it has - your wallet has just got significantly lighter :headhurt:

haha i always crap myself when i hear BEEEEEPPPPP ... I think engine management has come on for a second but it's always fuel or washer fluid... grr..

And fook me sideways but how quick does that last 1/8th of a tank disappear... the manual says 7 litres but it seems to just go within about 20 miles for me then i have to put fuel in again out of fear

 true, same here! I love that initial 50 miles or so when the needle doesn't move from full because you've filled it right to the brim... after that it's all downhill

anyway sorry for hijacking the thread haha

I have to agree wit hall thats been said, when I had just brought my Leon and was driving home the fuel light came on, initially I just heard the beep and my heart sank for a moment as I thought 's**t what have I just paid £3k for?' then I saw that evil little light shining, 20 miles later im on fumes lol. My escort used to be able to go work and back (35 miles) once it was past the red lol.

And as for them indicators, how loud does the clicking have to be, when I first took my gf in it I indicated and said oh yeah the indicators are bloody loud, she said she liked em and they sounded nice :wtf:

When i brought mine the guy said he'd put a gallon in it, only lasted to get home.
That said I put £40 of v-max in last week (@98.9p i think) when the light came on and the light came back on after 235 miles, I was quite happy with that.

Im from Market Drayton and work in Shrewsbury. I'd ask you but I don't know anywhere in Herefordshire lol

Cool well I'm originally from Herefordshire but I'm living in Welshpool at the mo. I'm regularly around Shrewsbury though. Seems to be a lot of localish members on here!

On a sensible day I normally see between 30 & 32mpg but I guess I average at about 28/29mpg normally. I was knackered the other night though and couldn't be bothered to drive fast, I got 36.2mpg :D

V-Max? Do you mean V-Power? It's about 90.9p around here I think, stupid how price differs by region.

Back to the topic, anyway of turning of or down the bleeping bleep noise?

I haven't heard of a way to turn it off but I imagine if there is, it would need to be done via a link-up on a laptop. I have read of people programming their cars to raise/lower their windows on the remote key fob so it might not be impossible.

I wouldn't mind changing the noise of mine, maybe the Nokia Tune will do :p

Well - you could find it and take it out. I have no idea where it is located though. I wouldn't have thought that turning it down would be an option - Ahhhh, unless you locate it and then wrap it up in something - or force some blu-tack into the speaker bit - that would quieten it down abit.

I bet it's in the most akward place to be though

I believe the bleeper is in the centre console just under the radio. You'll see a rectangle shape made up of square dots. That's where the b*stard hides!

thats the interior air temp sensor for the a/c ??

i always though the noise maker is on the back of the circuit board to the instrument cluster
