Totally agree with the above posters.

get rid of the p6000's. I thought I'd save a few quid when i changed mine from pzero's (also crap but came with the car) and boy what a mistake. awful tyres imo.

try some gsd3's as mentioned and you may find your happy without shelling out for the ARB's. I was amazed at the difference when i got the goodyears fitted.

Yep same here - P6000s made the car feel like it was accident damaged, and they were terrible in the progressive category... the new GSD3's I have are much more progressive - they let me know when I'm being a **** and pushing it too much; whereas the P6000s just suddenly would break into lethal under or oversteer.

Even in the current combo of greasy / wet / icy conditions the Goodyears surprise me - when i first put them on I almost put the car in a hedge because I turned in too much expecting them to understeer like the Pirellis haha

i got dunlop 9090 on the front and they made me think twice the otherday in damp conditions - but i know i was following a bentley continental, quite chuffed with it as well, and went into roundabout a little tooooo fast, but all good when lifted off and that was when he left me for dead...

still thinking they need to be replaced by osmething with more feel.
everybody is saying ditch the pirelli's but not saying really what is a good alternative.

tdi cupra is 225/45/17 for ref for starfish wheels unless been changed

The new F1 Assymetric are great in wet and dry but they're far too soft a compound so have gone back to Falken FK452.

got falken 452 on rear and garage have just said my front or very low on tread, 2 & 3mm, so i'm not surprised.
so looks like x2 more fk452 to be bought and fitted
another cost i don't need in jan as 80k service is due about now as well!!!!

Cheap enough from camskill though and most local tyre places will price match. You can get two falkens for the price of one F1 Assymetric!

falkens sounding very nice now with such a price diff and i don't really thrash her that much to need real sticky tyres, just good vfm that will give good feel

Falken FK452's are very good, as good as many tyres twice the price. Toyo T1-R's are also good and around the same price.

i understand what youre saying, and admittedly the roads arent (legally) a racetrack, just disappointed that the grip seems to disappear so soon and so suddenly if that makes sense.

Will be popping out tomorrow to get some new front boots, hopefully this should partially cure it.

Yep, definitely a symptom of the P6000s Good luck with the new tyre purchase mate, lots of good advice on here, I'm sure you'll be pleased when you have some new booties on her

haha That's my current set up, and it has left the back end a bit twitchy, but to be honest it's infinitely better than P6000 on every corner!

put them on back and the falken 452 on the front, jobs a good'n

Just got back from the tyre place via a trip down my favourite B-road

I went for a pair of Firestones as it was the maximum my budget would allow haha

Already it feels different, and when trying to provoke understeer the grip levels seem higher and definately more progressive. Slightly quieter too, oddly.

Probably be looking at getting a lower strut brace to go with it soonish.


But definately an improvement.
