Coilover Kits

Been looking at a possible suspension upgrade, the car is fitted with the Koni SSK Kit at the moment, however I am looking into coilovers.
Am looking for some feedback from you guys and girls on what is the best setup as there are so many kits on the market.

I've fitted 18's on the car and i'm having rubbing problems now and again, (only on full lock). So i'd be also lookin to solve this problem if i change my setup....

depends what you want

if you want a fit and forget option for coilovers, then get the KW V1's, superb quality and are treated so they wont rust, unlike other well known brands of coil overs

if you want something more complex, and I would only consider these if you are going to take the car on the track, then the KW V2's or V3's as they have damp and rebound settings

I have the KW V1's on mine, simply the best quality, great ride height, no rubbing and I run 18's and the ride is good too, not too hard

Unless your planning on going on track id stick with what you got mate. ( invest in ARB's)

kw varriant 3s all the way you get comfort and a stupid drop and it handles like its on rails costly though but worth it

I'd say the V1s and get some uprated ARBs.

Any ideas as to what the wheel is rubbing against, don't wanna spend my hard earned pennies on a kit and still have problems. Its strange tho cos a lot of people on here have also fitted 18's and lowered their cars any don't have any rubbing issues......

KW V3's for normal road use though?

Advantages of the KW3 is the extra reservoir so it will give you superior road manners.

EDIT: Dampening will be much better that v1 and v2's.

What 18's are they? You sure you have the correct offset. If the offset is wrong is could be that the inside wheel is closer to the inner arch than other 18" wheels with the correct offset.

Correct me if im wrong any 1????

They are KEI Force 10, not checked the offset, i will try and do this when i get a min. Usually you can tell if the offset is wrong as the wheels just wouldn't look right or even make the car look like a buggie!

I have Force 10's and they are ET45. I needed spacers to clear the Brembos.
Mine is also dropped on AP coilovers with no rubbing. It can be done

Difficult to say at the minute, not done many miles on them and they are still crashy and a bit noisey. I don't do high mileage so might have to wait a couple of months for them to settle down.

I've just ordered a set of PoundLand (RaceLand) coilies off the bay (£149 ex delivery!) I'll let everyone know what they're like. I've never been able to tell the difference between a £600 set and a £200 set to be honest.

erm, well quality for one

i.e. the KW ones are fully stainless steel, and wont rust, unlike other higher priced brands

they are more expensive for a reason, better quality parts and will last longer

if that was the case then a lot of motorsport runners would be using the cheaper brands which would give just as good as performance as more higher end products, which is clearly not the case

you get what you pay for.....

yes but to be fair i don't do much spirited driving, I only want to lower the car. And at this price, they'll need to fail every year for 4 years (these have 2 year warranties) for a £600 set to become viable for me.
