Hey

I got the seat version mfd3 about 6months ago...forgot i also had an ipod connection under my drivers seat lol, i just recently bought an ipod touch, went to plug it in and noticed the "hole" before the little ipod connection isnt big enough to fit the touch in, sooooo i need some sort of extension cable that goes from the bottom of the ipod, into the connector under my seat.. i did a little search around and cannot find a cable with ipod connection on both ends..?

Also, im guessing this will work with the mfd3? as i had the ipod dock in from new when i fitted my mfd3 i just took everything out of the old radio unit and stuck it in the back of the mfd3 i shouldnt need anything else should i?

So can anyone point me to a ipod to ipod extenion cable and verify that factory fit ipod dock will work with mfd3?

Thanks!

I tried my sons new iPod touch in my car at the weekend and it fitted in ok but you cant quite close the door, well you can but it doesn't feel right!
If like me you just plugged all the cable in the back of the MFD3 then the iPod will sound awul, you need to change a couple of wires around in the quadlock connector.... I can't remember which ones though sorry..... Im pretty sure NickP PMed me with what cables to change around.... I think he is busy fitting his new 'MDF interface toy' today so expect some pics of iPod track names and folders later!!!!! Im only jealous.....
I would wait and have a look at the interface he has bought and see how much it is.... It will be much better than any connection to the factory dock as you will only ever get playlists and no track names from that....

I *think* i got it to connect, maybe...but then what do i do to make it appear on the selection screen? i just had cd or hdd... :(

You use it on CD, just make sure you dont actually have a CD in, then you get 1-6 for the playlists on the iPod.... goes face up and it is fiddly to get it in the connector properly! You know its in properly when it lights up and is charging.

My son used to have an iPod nano and that was a real **** to get lined up, i do have the little plastic adapter things somewhere but i cant find em!

hmmm il give it another go tonight, why on earth is it under the seat, i wanna jump in my car and drive off. Not spend 10mins connecting the thing! Grrr! So is there not a cable anywhere that allows me to easily connect it, rather than fiddling around under my seat.

IE grab the cable connect to ipod, then put ipod in the flap under the seat. sorted. lol.

I expect you can get an extension cable, not sure.... it is in a fiddly place but at least its not lying around for someone to see....
