i tried to remove my carpet.....way too much hassle.

i got a domestic de-humidifyer (sp) and run an extension lead out to it for a bout a week (every night) carpet was dry in no time and i removed 2.5litres of water!!

make sure the doors and speakers are sealed up before hand though!

Hi Flares
afaik there is no way of removing rear carpets seperatley as the carpet is all in one pce, this is a major task that involves front seats etc removing.Far easier is to remove rear seat bases (unclip) door treads to rear doors (couple of torx screws) and plastic runner trims from under front seats (tork screws) this will allow you to pull carpet right up -push front seats right forward for max room.you can de humidify or leave heater on full for an hour or so till dry.You will prob find it is the sound insulation under the carpet that is holding all the water this can be cut with a stanley knife as far forward as possible to remove from the car to dry(just hang it up it is amazing how much water it can hold)
If the sound insulation has alraedy been cut (as mine had) its a sure sign someone has had to do this before......:(

hope this helps

We did a Leon just after Christmas (not mine). After redoing all the door seals, I used an industrial carpet cleaner to suck the water out of the carpets - just under 9 pints. Some of it was ice, so I used a heatgun to thaw/dry the carpets.

yeah was thinking about using the heat gun I got to speed the process up.
was the sound deadening a bit manky/smelly - havent pulled the carpet up yet but got a feeling this is going to be the case for me as there is a terrible musty smell in the car sometimes. definately gonna exercise a bit of shake'n'vac!

Wish i got a patch of In Car Entertainment under my floor mat!

I had the same problem as you and i used a VAX carpet cleaner on it and it did a really good job at sucking up the moisture. :)
