Sounds a bit odd to be honest. :( They should just go in and out really easily. Keep having a go I guess. Maybe try the old bulbs again in case you have accidentally bent some of the contacts

Personally haven't got the money/time/interest/patience for fitting HID's to mine, just went for Osram H4 Night Breakers instead, don't know why you are having issues with your LED's........ I bought these:- Ebay item number - 120325878282 - Cheap, not too blue.

Not had any problem with them yet, didn't have to much of an issue getting them in, did however put one if them in the wrong way round, took it out spun it round it lit up....

I found changing them 501's incredibly annoying ,Especially getting the little cover back on

and this was on a TDI seemed to be no space at all

I have had a few sets of LED sidelight bulbs and each time one has blown/gone too quickly! [:@] I have switched BACK to normal 501 bulbs for now...

I have got changing them down to a fine art now!

the other thing you need to look at is what leds your buying there are 2 main different types you have one which they call a quad 501 which has 4 little leds on it, and then theres the bulbus ones which have just one led, i will try and find pictures for you, the quad ones blow very easily as they are actually made for side repeaters rather than side lights so they are not meant to be on for a sustained amount of time! where as the single ones last a very long time!

heres a couple of links

quad leds

single leds

however i use these ones

which are brighter than normal leds bulbs

The quad LED bulbs I've had nothing but trouble with. One of them'll blow, or two leds will blow leaving only two on. Or they'll start to flicker or some crap like that. Absolute back of crap! I've now got "Xenon sidelight bulbs" (xenon look they're meant to be) and they haven't blown and have been in there for AGES! They are the single LED bulb with like a cloudy dome shaped top.

But I did have problems fitting mine. I found the flat part of the bulb was too thick to go into the plug. So literally just trimmed the very edge of flat bit off with a knife, fitted straight in then. :)

when you say ages you mean at least 5 months right? How much and where you get them and do they actually look 'xenon' like hate it when things says 'look' puts me off!?

Ok now it will work! Sorry i pressed back after i did it so it dident work haha , =]

The lights i use are 1 LED with like a rubber round top on it??
