Well thats mine just done still to finish it off with sand paper for a smooth finish but its a fookin messy job

I'll post up pics of it later on

DK - i've also taken the plastic ring off the inside of the part where the MAF sits as it didnt offer any support to it so i'll see what happens

Dispite my previous reservations over this I was bored one Saturday morning and did this. Didn't take long and the best way as someone else said is to get pliers and go along the fins and twist them off. Comes off clean enough. Didn't go too mad smoothing every little bump - didn't have any sandpaper anyway.
I also drilled a load of holes in the bottom bit like DK did.

Smoothing it makes absolutely no difference in performance or anything.
The holes make a big difference in sound. Sounds bit more growley which is good and not so good is that the Diverter valve sound is far more pronounced. But overall sound is better.
So if you are going to drill the holes you may as well "smooth" it out by removing the fins. Just don't get obsessed past that.
If you are not going to drill the holes no point in bothering.

Thanks DK for the guide

Good guide, I did this in about 40 minutes today.

I used pliers as suggested above and most fins broke cleanly. I don't have much patience so did the bulk of the sanding with my belt sander then finished off with the mouse sander.

I took it easy on the holes, did about 20 8mm ones. A little extra induction noise and a big increase in dump noise (my DV is reversed).

Jonjay has done this to his along with a bigger cold air pipe and he's had quite good gain's from it.

I refitted my airbox today and its made a big difference on noise lol, ont realy know about bhp gains but its nice to hear the turbo spooling up louder now and the DV noise has increased a fair bit

All in all a very good mod that only costs you an hour of your time :D

Does the increase in DV Noise only happen more on reversed or does it not matter?

Is it best just to leave the forge 007 correct way round.
