I was just going into pay my bill at local parts place and thought id have a look for the discs for my car as i know they stock brembo and zimmerman

gave him the reg and tne only ones which came up were 312mm.
i have the cupra r with brembos i thought the discs were 323 so i checked on ETKA which they are. the parts place dont list the 323mm for my car but why do they list the 312mm??

they had some very nice brembo and zimmerman ones drilled or non drilled for a very reasonable price, brembos non drilled were £ 35 each and zimmerman drilled £50 each.

i thought this was a bargain but something couldnt be right.

the part number is 8N0 615 301A but on etka is lists 1ML 615 301, without the A.

The parts place GSF, dont list any 323mm for mine and cant get any., fairly disapointed as i thought i had found a bargain!!! he got the discs out for me and i had a look they looked to be the correct ones but obviously i couldnt tel the few mm difference?

anybody know the brembo or zimmerman part numbers for the correct discs or where i can get a good set cheap.

Don't know if the prices are still valid as they change from time to time, but about a month ago I paid:

Front discs 1ML615301 £80.62 each

Rear discs 8N0615601B £31.53 each

TNT 48 hour delivery was £13

Dave posted them to Bill for machining elliptical grooves, then Bill posted them to me along with a set of DS2500 pads :)

I had my braked replaced by a local garage, only found out yesteday that they have fitted 312mm discs. I have a fairly big lip on the back of my pads.

Wtf?! Surely they should have noticed the difference in size? Not only is the diameter smaller, but they're thinner discs as well! Didn't you question the price? IIRC I was quoted around £45 per disc at a local garage a few years back... when I questioned the cheap price they said "yeah, they're genuine VW parts, we've fitted a few to TT's and Golf's". When I asked if they were definitely 323mm Brembo discs, they were like

Did my discs & pads myself... basically: punch out 2 small pins & remove retaining spring, slide pads out. Undo 2 Alan head bolts, caliper off. Undo one Philips head locating screw, disc off. Have bit of a clean up, apply copper grease & re-build. Discs & pads done in just over an hour, with a coffee & fag break inbetween :) There is a guide on the main page, but it's such a simple job, you don't really need it.
