It creaks!

A strange noise has started making itself known to me over the last few weeks, i have noticed a loud creaking noise - hen i change gear and stuff or if there's any kind of change of pace or a jolt - like braking or whatever something creaks! just wondered if anyone had any experience of that, i think its suspension but then it doesnt seem to do it when the engine aint on! its odd, ive spent the last couple of weeks in denial, turning up the bass to hide it, but now i need to know! haha

Does it come front the front or the back? Because i have a creaky noise coming from the front, but it hasnt done it for ages. happens when i brake hard then accelerate again. drives me insane!!

i cant really tell but i think it is the front! i noticed yesterday i reversed onto a bumpy driveway and the back creaked a little bit but the front sounded like an old rusty gate when it went over it haha! gonna get someone to look at it, but im dreading its nothing expensive!

My back suspension creaks in the winter, but a few people on here have said that happens to them to, probably due to the cold and salty roads. the noise from the front of mine kinda sounds like when you crack your knuckles! its weird. but its getting serviced at the end of January so will get them to look at it then

Mine sounds like an old woodern ship when its dry lol front ARB bushes on mine, changed them twice and it stops it for about 2/3weeks then starts again lol

well at least its common! mine is still under warranty until april so if its nothing that wont be under warranty then i might take it to seat, get someone else to check it first to make sure its covered though! dont wanna pay over the odds at a dealership!

Mine creaks and cracks during the cold months aswell, got worse when it got lowered. My guess is it's rubber on metal making the noise, had it on several cars and it's near impossible to get rid off. I wont even bother myself, i just keep telling myself the car is stiff as a board, it creaks, and it's racey!

gutted, i was hoping it would be better when i get it lowered haha maybe not then!

The stiffer the suspention, the more the chassis will take the force of bumps etc. I reckon stiffening up the chassis should help a bit.

Might be the caliper pins, if they stick like mine they make a grinding noise when i first use the car.

Check your brake pads also.

luckily my mate is a decent enough mechanic so he'll be playing hunt the creak in january sometime! it needs a service in march too but i think it'll have to be in jan the poorest time of the year haha!

Tell me about it: Car tax end of December, Service, MOT & Insurance end of January, motorbike insurance in February

The creaking noise is probably just the front wishbone rear bushes, mine creaks but gave them a spray with some WD40, seems to have done the job although do hear the odd creak every now and again. Noise seemed to get worse in winter
