Very strange. It has jUst stopped working. It's been working all day, but very wet weather. Looks like some water on the inside of the lens. Should dealer sort ?

if you search i think that there are a few psots with people who have had 1 or both of their xenon lights that have failed.

what i think TAM was saying was that the xenon fillament is covered under warranty so even if this part is at fault it will be replaced.

always seems to happen in winter just when u need them most , bet if it was summer it would be ok

all fixed, they replaced the unit and job done :) thats all i needed to know , all workin and done under warantee
I would ask what would happen if the car is out of warranty. Replacement of the unit could be very costly if it is not covered under some lifetime guarantee arrangement.

You could say the same about a gearbox .. or an engine though ... you dont start asking for lifetime guarantees on them now do you?

The point was that if it was due to some ingress on a failed seal, every week when you check the oil / water etc, you run your eye over the part of the headlight which H8T WP was advised had an issue with, just to make sure you do not do the same thing.

More as a preventative measure than quibbling about warranty covered replacements.

Just for your info, Xenon/HID's do not have filaments. They have 2 electrodes and a spark that jumps between them :D
Can you tell I'm boared...........
