Hello there all I have just been out and getting a seat Ibiza 1.4 sport 05. The car is mint in all areas apart from running. The car does start and runs normal about 800 1000 revs but some times when you rev it and hole it at about 3000 – 4000 revs the car sound like its limiting. No warning light has come up and I cannot drive it. Has any body had this problem?:cry:

what do you mean by limiting?

The car will rev all the way round, but when you drive the car at about 3000 revs the engine sound like it is limiting I have changed (spark plug, ht lead, and temp sensor) all have been changed but still the engine will not rev right hope this explains mate.

I get that... and if that is the case, it drives like a boat... and when its not, it goes really well!
I find that if I turn it off, and back on again, sometimes it cures it!

Yes, I get that... and when it does happen mine drives like a boat. I have found that if I turn it off, and back on again, the problem goes away.
Had it vag-com'd the other day and no faults found, but will be doing it again soon to make sure.
What bhp is yours?

Hi mate

On the earlier cars, with a distributor, it would limit as follows;

All pulley marks are alligned properly, distributor rotor arm alligned with notch in distributor body, however, the distributor body had to be at the correct angle in its housing.

This is completely different to your car, however, no error codes on the above, but i would suggest a good check of all the pulley timing marks.

thanks mate i have checked the car over and all seems ok, all wires are ok, new spark plugs all sensors on the car are working correctly acording to my mate lap top. i have asked a mobile macanic to have a look at it. i think it could be a faulty coil pack or could just need a good tune once again thanks.
