Is a Service due on my LCR?

Ok, this is going to sound dumb to almost everyone of you but I am no stranger to making a fool out of myself. Anyway, I used the search but I could't find what I wanted.

Basically, I started my car yesterday and instead of the mileage clock reading how many miles I have covered, it flashed up "Service 1900 Miles". I have never had a car that notifies me of service intervals before so can anyone confirm if this one does?

What I really want to know is, as my dad will be servicing it at his own garage (independant, not a franchise or Stealer), most likely before I cover those 1900 miles which will take me ages, how do I tell the computer on the car that it has been done?

Thanks people.
