Ipod upgrade

Afternoon all,

I have a 2008 Leon Fr with factory headunit and also the under seat factory ipod lead. I want to know how easy and what parts needed if possible to get the text on the mfd.

I am sure I have seen other people with it but not sure of the upgrade path if you already have one fitted?

That's the one Nick yeah.

Do i need to buy the complete new thing or can I upgrade just a bit of it? I fitted a ipod lead to my other fr I had but on the new one I had the factory option so I am not sure where the box or anything is?

Mine only shows track info because I have the MFD3 fitted - it shows when I'm playing MP3's from CD/DVD or from the hard drive.

I have the factory fitted ipod adapter and it doesn't work with that - I need to buy an MDI Media IN Adapter which is around £120 and then I'll have full ipod functionality on the MFD3 and on the MFD display

I was worried that was the case.

So I can only get track names via the mfd if I have the sat nav?

I would love the new one I had the mfd2 in my other one and it was ok but the new one looks sweet!
