Why did I use tights/scourers in the catch can?

the scourers acted as a absorbant sponge so the hot fumes have something to stick to, the tights were used to keep the scourers together, and to stop bits on stainless steel coming loose and getting sucked/blown down pipes.

I think thats what your asking.

I've taken my catch can out, it looked really chavtastic - I'm going to look at the OEM looking catch can that fixes to the oil filter housing in the new year.

Can't remember the name of it now....

Any update on your CEL light, Chris?

Indeed!

Kev from JabbaSport turned up bang on schedule :)

Downloaded my ECU map and started to map out the EGR, P-Torque never touched my EGR part of the map hence the CEL light.

Brilliant service from Jabba - very very impressed indeed.

Might even go get my car remapped with Jabba in the new year ;)

Whats wrong with the p-torque map, Chris?

Nothing mate.

Was just very suprised at somethings Kev showed me. I don't want to try go into too much detail as I don't know what im talking about.

The P-Toruqe map is good, i like it. However, certain parameters have been left alone and I was shown/told the benefits of tweaking them.

Really interesting stuff!

I know what you mean mate. But if you do start to tweek them other parameters then its no longer a stage 1 map, its a stage 2. I'm pretty sure its the same deal with any mapping company.

Just look at my results from p-torque stage 2 ;).

Yes you are correct. I'm just very impressed with Jabba right now.

Certainly wont think twice about doing the long journey if I want some work carrying out.

Fair enough mate. I'm not trying to turn you away from Jabba or even push you towards P-Torque. Just saying a stage 1 is a stage 1, all mapperd do more or less the same thing for stage 1.

As long as your happy with what you have got now/going for in the future, thats all that counts mate :)
You cant beat good customer service can you :D

This is sometimes the difference between spending x amount of quid and not spending at all.

Customer service paints a nice big picture for me. Aftercare is just as important as the product with stuff like this :)

I may go back for the DP later on in the year. Just aint enough funds right now.

Very happy with the Milltek CAT-Back, looks beefy and has a nice tuned sound to it.

Car is back at AwesomeGTI on Thursday to have a new rear wheel bearing on, its fubar!

Chris,

Ive just finished the hybrid turbo conversion on my PD150 (Bora).

Whilst I was at it I replaced the panel filter with a Green Cotton item, and I also did the drilled airbox mod, I probably drilled about 25 10mm holes in the lower half of the box around where the cold air feed is attached....

I must say Im very suprised at how loud it is now, even on idle, Im not sure if I like it. Do you think I drilled too many holes, or the fact its combined with a Green filter and a more powerful turbo has emphasised it?

Guess I'll just have to get used to it, grow to like it perhaps, Ive not hammered the car yet as I dont have the right clutch in until Thursday and its not been mapped.

Only other option is to buy a new airbox, and see what it sounds like with that on.

hmmmm
