Well after owning my candy white frtdi for nearly 2 years its time for a change, i am picking up my new scirocco on wednesday.I can honestly say the car has been a joy to own i took a big risk ordering a white one, i am sure it was the first in the uk,stocky had his about a week befor mine but he lives in ireland. In two years i had no problems at all, i spec'd the car with all options except the sunroof and imho bluetooth is a must, the heated seats are a nice option, con pack worth the money,i pod was ok for £75,bi zenons were the biggest letdown no where near as good as the ones on my evo.Alot of people complain about the harsh ride i cant comment on that to much as i had h&r springs fitted from almost new and they were fine, fuel consumption was not great for a derv i averaged about 35 mpg.All in all a great package for the money, i know the second hand car market is at rock bottom but i had no problem selling private at a price i was happy with.
I just hope i enjoy the rocco as much.

Followed one in Blue last week. Looks really wide and low from the back. Those doors look about 7ft long.

How you're enjoying the new car, what coulour did you get it in?
When you said you had no problem getting rid of the fr privately, would you be able to say how many miles it had on and what you got as I might have to sell mine soon?

The scirocco is a similar shape to the leon although obviously much sleeker.... its a change i wouldnt mind making in maybe a year or so but for the 168bhp diesel like the TT... keep us all posted on what its like day to day

How you manage that? For that price I'd be very tempted to get one. Very nice choice btw, can't wait for the pics. :)

TL Darby vw found it on the vw used car site, i could not belive the price it was ex demo with 1800miles on the clock, so gave them a ring to ask if was a misprint as it was 3k cheaper than any other on there but it was right so i paid the deposit there and then, that was on friday put the leon on ebay saturday sold it sunday picked up rocco wendesday, all happened a bit quick lol.I wanted a rocco from launch but it was going to cost me 10k to change so i shelved the idea for a bit, then this one came along i had not seen the salsa red so i took a bit of a gamble, it is basic spec but to be honest the gt is well specked as standard, dual climate, rain sence wipers, auto lights,18" rims, 235 tyres, fog lights, multifunction computer, auto dim mirror, the fantastic rcd510 stereo, winter pack(heated seats) and acc variable suspension.I have waited a few days to give my first impression to get over the new car factor, looks wise its very much like the leon very modern flowing lines a bit of a marmite car but its bloody wide and squatty from the rear, the alloys are lovely the seats are stunning and very comfy and the rear seats(only 2 of them) look just as good, once sat down its all very familiar if you know what i mean same switches ect as the leon all very nice but not nice enough not that modern, you could well be drivin a golf but the black roof lining looks good and the stereo is great touch screen and proper i pod controls track names ect. Quite a nice exhaust note on start up, once you get on the move the first thing that struck me was how smooth it was it just glides along acc on comfort mode after a few miles put it into sports mode and you can feel the diffrence, it handles very well i will push it further when i get to know it a bit better. All in all i am one happy rocco owner, is it better than my frtdi yes.

Very nice m8.... im not jealous in the slightest!!!

I see what you mean about the back.... looks very wide.... I cant imagine anyone who has a MK2 Leon will say they dont like it though, it looks very similar to me...

Hopefully this time next year I will have a nice new TDI black one...

Is it me though or does the bagde on the bonnet look wrong?
