LCR front wishbone bushes split: new bushes or new wishbones?

Just had my LCR serviced. Garage says it needs new front-wishbone bushes & a new front ARB (collars are broken, which is common, allegedly...).

Ref wishbone bushes - I have a mechanic pal who'll charge me KPs for labour, but he needs to know if, re LCRs, it's best to re-use wishbones & replace the bushes, or is it less hassle to buy new wishbones (with new bushes already fitted). Apparently, the latter option is the way forward with Fords, for example, cos the cost of new wishbones vs bushes-only is negligible.

But, what's good for a Ford is not always good for a SEAT...

Please advise.

Forged wishbones on an LCR = expensive to replace

Best get new bushes (std or powerflex) pressed in

ARB bushes 10 mins a side DIY.

I agree, changing the bushes is simple, all you need is a press. Getting the old ones out can be done with a junior hacksaw.

I replaced some of my wishbone bushes on my LCR. Got them off ebay, £3 each.

Just standard rubber.
