Guys and Girls
My Ibiza needs a service. 20,000 or the annual one (whichever requires the majority of the work that is)
Had a few questions about it though. I've been ringing around, and different dealers say different things need changing. For example, one will say the fuel filter needs changing and one will say it doesn't. Whats with that?
Some dealers say that they do a full diagnostics whilst others say that its not part of the service schedule. Which one is the truth?
What is the ACTUAL service supposed to comprise of? What gets checked and what doesn't?
They all claim to do a XX Point service as well. What do they normally check? Wheel bearings for play, exhaust, wishbones, steering etc?
Surely none of this work is too taxing, and I'm sure I could do most of it myself on the ramps at work? (I work at a powerstation so we have the same equipment, cept that its mostly used for more unusual vechiles like fork lift trucks and milk floats...)
How about getting the service light reset? Apparently this is when they run the diagnostics? Is it possible for me to buy the quipment to run my own diagnostics?
Also, is £125 a good price for the service? They dont seem to do alot of work for that price...
Hope someone out ther can help me?
Thanks everyone for any input you can give.
