Prestige Polish sponsered a charity race night in Dundee last night.
The charity was set up for a young girl called Alana who has several conditions from birth.
The aim was to raise money for a certain machine for Alana that could help her have a better quality of life. The machine helps her sleep at night and cost several thousands of pounds.
Ninewells Hospital in Dundee allowed Alana this machine for a 6 month period to see how she would get on with it. It turned out to work really well and everybody around Alana could see a huge improvement. Unfortunately Ninewells can not afford to let her keep it and the time came when they had to take it back.
We (Prestige Polish) have been considering for some time now about custom xmas cards to send out to all our customers to thank them for the support they have given. Then after meeting Alana last night we thought it would be better to spend the price we have been quoted for the cards on someone who really needs help. So, you guys will not be getting xmas cards anymore but instead an e-mail wishing you a merry xmas and details on the charity we have donated to.
At the end of the day xmas cards while a nice gesture is just a card that will sit on your desk for 2 weeks then prob end up in the bin.
I got a phone call from Joe (The Charity Organizer) this morning and she has confirmed that last night the amount needed was raised and they are in the process of purchasing this machine today and they should have it for early 2009.
This news makes us very proud as a company to have been involved and will encourage us to do more where we can.
Following on from this will be the sample runs some of you might be aware of and now that the last run is out the road I think it's time to start a new run.
So anyday now I will start a new thread with a list of prducts to choose from.
Keep an eye out.
Thanks for your support to date and allowing us to be in this position where we can donate to charity.
