Blade's K1 - amazing power...

I was at the SCN RR day at RSTuning on Saturday and was chatting to Blade before his K1 went on the rollers - the usual sort of thing of 'so what you done? what you hoping to get?'. Well I must admit when he said 'I've had it mapped and played with the air intake - it made 316bhp the other week' I thought this should be interesting...

So I was watching the big screen with interest and the graph launched it self up the screen in an almost vertical line and off the chart; it was at this point someone said it had skipped on the rollers - I bet blades face was a picture in the car! :headhurt: Anyway the second run was well over 300bhp (can't remember the exact numbers) but the third run popped up 332bhp and 350lb-ft on the big screen!!!

A bit later on Blade took me out for a blast up the road - he pulled out of the trading estate and then once rolling jumped on the loud pedal - fook me! I was expecting power but nothing like this, the car just surged forward even though it was wet and the wheels were spinning and Blade was not even using all the revs.

I've been in a few fast road cars over the years - but nothing has impressed me like his K1. Hopefully I can blag a blast in the dry sometime...

Thanks for the kind comments. My K1 does bring a :D to my face everytime i drive it. Saving some pennies for a suitable Turbo back zorst now. My tuner reckons it should be a lot quicker once the engine can breathe easier. Must admit its a little frustrating in this wet weather - 1st/2nd gears are useless - easily spins in 3rd and sometimes in 4th if i get on the gas hard :drive1:.

I'll bet it looked filthy on Sunday morning... :D

I would describe it as matt grey Dave. Actually starting to like it a bit now, might leave it this week and see if my rear number plate dissapears all together :funk:

Fairly good/optimistic result that with no fuel pump and exhaust I would have thought. My mate has an Edition 30 (he comes on here actually - username K4ith) with GIAC Hammer map, dbilas, S3 intercooler and Autotech Fuel Pump, and I am sure his is not as high as that

Edit - you will notice a proper difference with an exhaust on there too :)

So you have the pump, filter and a pump specific map on the car? Torque curve must be really flat above 3k. Any chance of a graph squire?

Hey Balde,
Awesome power there bro.

May I ask why you are changing to the Dbilas?
I rate Evoms Intake and just wanted to know why you swopping?
Weather? Power? Etc?

The noise is just too intrusive. Sounds like its wanting to speak like Darth vader.

Oh ok, cool
I guess the noise does become a tad intrusive like you said.
