i had a headunit fitted and needed the space where the storage slot is for all the wiring and my soon to be fitted kce350bt bluetooth kit.

i i bought a blanking plate from my seat dealer for £3.09p (surprised as it was the dealer) an its plane black as pictured below.

i was wondering if people think it looks out of place and needs to be color coded?

also do you think i should color code the stereo trim at the same time?

anyone know the color or color code?

thoughts appreciated

Andy

in my opinion. if i could have i'd have kept the little pocket and placed your stereo in the same place your standard one went... i've fitted mine there and still got my pocket in... i'll admit it is tight around the back for the wiring... but it fits.. mine looks like it came with the car now... as for your blank plate,, how about putting a grey seat badge there?

i would love to keep it looking standard but it ony just fits now with the blanking plate in and i am having a bluetooth adapter for my head unit that isnt the smallest.

i dont like the sound of the seat badge and im sure a few others would agree it may make it look scabby.

Hmm could be tricky to get it looking exactly the same, maybe worth doing the whole trim aswell ?

i like your thinking.

its a mate thats going to do it so i might give it a go as just the blanking plate then if no luck do the whole trim.

thanks for the ideas

Hi
When you did the mod what did you do with the rubber mat? I would be very glad to take it off your hands as mine is missing

nice thinking graham i still have the mat and the storage slot and im keeping them for when i sell the car (hopefully not soon).

i did get a quote from the dealers for the rubber mat as when i fliped the boxes around they covered the air wholes so i was going to cut one and keep the other one for when i sold the car and i got quoted 25 quid for the bit of rubber lol

FR TDI will probably agree but you think you have problems fitting the cable in from a single DIN unit try fitting a double DIN!

with the storage box in it might aswell be a double din unit?

alpine dont make it easy they have cables all over the place.

I used to have that headunit and I sprayed the headunit surround gloss black as I did not like that random grey colour it came with (my alpine headunit before that one and my new one are black) I would use this as an excuse to fit gauges but be careful some I have seen look very tacky! I know what you mean about the lack of space behind it a joke I ended up cutting bits away inside the dash!
