well was all goin well and suddenly when changing down for a turning it felt like i had no power for a split sec, now it is under powered and sounds like a subura but without its power lol :D it is also a bit lumpy on tickover.
any suggestions thanks

coilpack defo, i had one go, then an hour another one went, may aswell change them all if u got the dosh cus they will go soon after, i thought it was a rumour, its not!

if you go to tps you can pick them up for £24 each and they are genuine vw ones. just ask for the group discount

if it was me I would get the bolt down Hitachi ones which were about £30 each as I have fitted on mine

If it sounds like a scooby then its defo a coil pack mate. Happened to me a few weeks ago.

Euro car parts do original VAG ones for £23..

cheers people for the replys have checked it last nite and its the coil on Cyclinder no 2! will buy 1 from seat tomorrow as they keep them in stock! £31 isnt to bad! :D just hope the rest dont start going! will it do any damage driving it on 3 cyclinders? still smoother on tickover than i fought and drives fine at about 2500 rpm!

It will of put more pressure on the other 3 coils that were working ok so you could replace one and a week/month down the line one of those three will go. So it would be better to replace all 4 but it all depends on money asa small bill becomes bigger.

I drove about 10miles on 3 cylinders car seems to still be ok still. reminded me of the days of having a wrx lol

lol well i drove mine bout 100 odd miles :p and have now replaced the broken coil 2day and all is good again!!

when 1 of mine went the other one went. then a month later the same happened. so i have had to replace 2 at a time
