only got my cupra a few weeks ago but a little bit confused about the fuel cap??

is there supposed to be some kind of release button as mine has nothing not even a key lock on the inner cap
so any dodgey pikey off the street can go up to my car and take a piss directly into my fuel tank!!!:ban:

its supposed to lock with the key (when all doors are locked). you should see a little hole with a metal pointy thing in it to the bottom left (i think) and that should go into a hole on the petrol outer door thing..

mine doesn't work, but used to work fine on my 1.4..

open the flap / lock the car

now watch inside to see if a peg pops out and then back in when you unlock

that peg locks the flap down when the car's locked

knew an Espace driver once that broke a very expensive fibreglass rear 1/4 panel just 2 days old not knowing how to fill up with fuel and used brute force instead :):)

ok seriously wastegate I understand your problem. Hell mine has not worked since i bought it. But lets be honest how often does a pikey really piss in someone's petrol entrance? Even more so, checking all cars to find one thats unlocked...hahaha

oh dear no peg on mine!!!
any ideas if it can be fixed?

with the doors locked too ?

usually a knackered lock solenoid so if you really wanna fix it strip out the rear 1/4 trim and replace it

just don't swear at me when the next one breaks but outwards and jams the flap shut solid :p
