I need a new set of front pad's and disc's for an 04 Leon Cupra R.I want to stick with brembo and i was just wondering if anybody has an suggestions as to where the cheapest place or the best place that will do me a deal on them.

What make are a good replecement or is it better to stick with the brembos???

Badger5 on here do brembo discs I think, they look like the exact ones that euro car parts sell, the ATP power discs I think there called

GSF seem to be Brembo stockists - also they tend to carry a good range of Textar and Pagid pads as used by VAG.

I've nothing really against ECP but they tend to sepecialise in ATE discs and pads - Seat use ATE pads on some of their lower models - so that makes ECP a good a cheap place to buy them - but I'd stick to GSF for the higher grade brake parts - just do your homework and check exactly what Textar and Pagid supply to VAG for factory fit to these cars (websites). You might find that GSF and certainly ECP are a bit lazy and rationalise the range they stock - so while the parts might fit, they will sometimes not be intended for that application. Just for an example, ECP only sell one p/n of ATE front pads for my Passat B5, strangely GSF only sell one p/n of Pagid for this car - the profile of the backing plate is wrong in both cases and in extreme circumstances can cause a foul condition - Pagid's only Passat listing for that kit p/n was for use in Japan!?! - but I'm sure they are correct for Audi A4 and Audi A6. Textar provide me with the correct pad set - which were indentical to the original ones fitted at the factory. In my book cheap is only cheap if it is right!

Went to my dealer and was quoted £140 for pads and £120 for discs each and thats probably excluding VAT. I asked badger5 about this the other week and would recommend speaking to him. Im looking for a stock/marginally better but still OE looking as i dont want to void the insurance. Original brembo discs are very very expensive, EBC original discs are 1/3 of the price and pad wise better than stock ones are the DS2500 and also cheaper.

EBC plains, grooved, are surprisingly good. In all the ones I have sold, they have performed the equal of brembo's but are far better value.

EBC plains £110/pair+vat in round numbers.
Ds2500's are the pad of choice. Superb performers and cheaper than OE replacements.. (you do need to link the pad warning sensor wire)

i will also be looking for some new disks and pads, i currently have Ferdo ds2500 so will be sticking with them

out of interest how will i know if the pad warning sensor wire is sonnected as mine had them on when i bought it? if it was not connected would it thow up a light?

When pads without wear sensors were first fitted to your car, who ever fitted them would have either deselected the brake wear check function in the instrument panel soft coding, or, they would have chopped the connector and a short bit of cable of the old OE pads - connected the choped wires together - maybe soldered and heat shrunk them together and plugged this connector back into the car mounted connector. If none of this was done the brake wear indicator would be lit.

See post#7 either option depending on budget, avoid drilled disks IMO

You can buy them from Badger5 at competative prices

Ferodo pads are also amazing. too them to the ring and they were fantastic.

so am i correct in assuming grooved are same price as the plain

but still cant see the price for the pads

i did read something about those were they the ones for 650 wat does them
include do i have to change the calipers as i dont want to change my front
brembo calipers im running the standard disc with ferodo ds2500 andim happy with that
set up but the disc jus look to plain wanted a pattern in them ie grooved

No change of calipers required (or pads)
they are 2 piece disks that means they don't warp like OEM ones do on track
Think they can come grooved
Oh and btw change your brake fluid to something like the Motul stuff Bill does, once boiled a few times the OEM stuff is cack
For specific queries as Bill is his section or pick up the phone to him

2-piece 330mm are available yes.. as are grooved one piece is grooved looking disks is your want.
