My mate ordered them on his card as they are a b'day present for me. He arranged to have them delivered to my address along with two other kits. Hids4u didn't ship the items as they thought something dodgy was going on with the different addresses....which is fair enough. However the status online said that they had been shipped and they had taken the whole amount out of my mates account. It was only when my mate rang them that they told him this! Quite annoyed that they didn't phone or e-mail to say that they weren't dispatching.

They should have been delivered to my mates house today. Hopefully i'll fit them by the weekend :)

I've been holding off on getting these for ages, partly because of cashflow, but also due to the illegality of aftermarket kits (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=yVuSSdZNsZw), but I just gave in and ordered the H7R Pro + kit (and sidelights) from HIDS4U. Will fit at the weekend and stick some pics up. At the end of the day, as long as they pass the MOT and I don't blind other road users I'll be happy.

Damn you posters with your useful information.

Hey it's the best purchase I've made, I went for the Ultimate kit from HIDS4u with the anti-glare bulbs, I have had them in for a few weeks now, travelled about 300 miles, no one has flashed me once :D so they must be ok:D

yeah wanted the ultimate kit really, but the aforementioned cashflow crisis put paid to that  stretched an extra tenner for the anti-glare bulbs though.

Other thing is, what about insurance? Anyone here told/planning to tell their insurance company? Guess it's classed as a mod for most companies and likely to void any possible claims if checked?

they didn't have them when I bought mine I don't think, well mine passed 2 MOTs and I have never been flashed for blinding people. Love my HIDs! Never bought the side lights thou as everyone says they blow and they are not cheap to replace.

I informed my insurance company as soon as I fitted them, because it is classed as a mod, it wont really put your premium up, I think I had to pay £15, that was only because of the admin charge to put it on my policy and send the new documents out, it's worth doing because they could decide not to pay out in the event of an accident, and it's really easy to find out if you have them fitted or not!!!

Only in the first few seconds after switching them on i get a bit of interference. I've read somewhere that it takes around 23kv to start the arc, then the ballast reduces it to around 100v to maintain the arc so I guess its that. It only lasts about 3 - 4 seconds then the radio is fine again.

Has anyone had any problems with their Hids affecting their radio reception?
Hey Just got a leon tdi, My first post.(was searching which bulbs to buy when i found this)
Had to reply to this. Read it all through. Dont wurry at all about HID's i have a vauxhall corsa with a redtop and hid's on the standard 1,1 battery and there is no problems with radio, leaving the lights on while car is not running then starting car will not blow them, Having the engine mounted soild and vibrating the whole car has not blown my bulbs in around 25k miles. :D

Cheers for the info mate...and welcome to the site :)

The weird thing about the interference was that it only affected one radio station
