i realise coilovers would be a better choice, but are they that much better to warrant the extra money? dont wanna drop my LCR to much but wanna sort the handling!!

Get a decent set of springs and dampers if your not planning on going on the track , also stops the temptation to play.

Absolutely, you will never stop adjusting coilovers. springs are fine for road and your pocket.

sorry for sounding like a n00b but what are the advantages for coilies over a matched spring/shock set....just the adjust ability?

technically you already have coilovers on the front.... it just means that the spring is over the damper/shock in one unit...hence coilovers!! .....

if you get springs/shocks that are the same rate as the coilovers the car will handle the same....

the only benefits are the adjusatbility with the coilovers and that you can usually go lower with coilys....

they look nice too....

unless your going to build an all out track car i dont really see the point.... IMO i dont see that they are worth all the extra £££.....

lots of people will argue otherwise... im just speaking from personal experience

Ive got weitec and cant fault them, well made kit, they are actually part of kw so quality is good, they were about £100 cheaper than the kw mainly down to the kw having stainless steel legs and the weitec having just galvanised.Mine is lowered about 20mm and i havent had any problems at all,had wheels off the other day and the legs are spotless,no rust on dampers or springs and look as good as day they went on.
I havent adjusted mine since fitting and dont intend to but as it is it handles well, the ride is firm though and on some roads near me(yorkshire) it can sometimes feel a bit rough on the back roads but on a decent main road its spot on.:)
