Hi all,
I've been looking for a decent second hand car for about a month now.
Saw a gorgeous yellow 1.4S, nearly bought it but had it inspected and it had some problems that made it not worth the effort.

But I was impressed with the car!

So I decided that I really did want an Ibiza.

Kept looking and an absolutely beautiful 2000 reg (X) Ibiza Cool/S 1.4 came along!!
Silver/grey, always garaged, lovely condition, 43,000 easy miles locally to me, FSH (I could bore you more with all the general loveliness but I guess you get the idea).

The Radio appears to be out of some old Plymouth Fury.... possibly called Christine ;-)
It seems to come on at will when I open the central locking and get in!
So I thought I'd look out an owners forum and found this one!!
great right?

Well, actually its a bit scary!!
Perhaps I shouldn't have read the 'you know you've got an Ibiza' thread first?

I thought these had the reputation of being a Polo in a party dress?

I thought that after years of driving old but reliable cars I was making a sensible decision getting a Seat.

Any encouragement for the newbie would be greatfully recieved!
Will post a piccy of the car latez.

Regards
Gene

They're actually alot better than that thread would have you believe.
Stick a tape in the tape slot, that should sort it out. Did on mine anyway...

Once i bought the car and registered here i read the "you know you hve a mk3 when.." and started panicking thinking i had every common fault

But so far so good, i do have a boot full of wiper fluid but that will be fixed at weekend

A possibility, especially as i had a load of christmas shoe boxes (for orphans) in my boot and when I went to hand them in they were dripping of what (apparently) smelled like alcohol, but was actually washer fluid

Thanks everyone! I'm a little worried about the phantom radio at the moment as I was woken by a neighbour this morning to tell me my radio was on (loud) in the car.
How does it do that?
:-(

yes push the tape in, and leave it in there.

should solve the problem

as for hoping that will be the only problem...well all I can really say is: its always good to hope ;)

wouldn't count on it though.

But you have to understand the context of the you know you have an mk3 when thread. the cars are good. VW audi quality for a Spanish price.
