Custom Code Remapp dissapeared??

Ive got a Problem:censored:
The other day i stupidly left my ignition on my cupra 20vt and my battery went flat. When i went to start it using jumpleads i somehow accidentely put the + on the - and the - on the + and there were sparks and smoke and i immediettely pulled the leads off. After puting them on correctly, the car started but was running terribly when i revved it a little. i turned the car off and back on again and it revved fine. The fuse for the stereo blew and the airbag light is now constantly off but worst of all my custom code remapp has gone or it is still there but the car is not boostin properly. with the remapp i had a little boost of pwer at 4000 revs but not any more, throtle response is not as good now but it does still have some torque. Is it possible for a remap to dissapear or is it worse than that and if it is the remap, will custom code reload it for free? Please help as i want my power back!

Maybe it has gone into limp mode so it can still be driven, but the worst case scenario is that you have blown your ECU which could be quite expensive, i'd ascertain the actual problem before worrying about the remap.

I'd get it vag commed or taken to a dealers for a diagnostic check ASAP.

The remap wont of gone because for the remap to of gone your ECU will of had to of been wiped and the car wouldn't start without it.

I would suggest getting vag-com on there as I expect you've destroyed some sensors. Have you got any warning lights on?

No i havent got any warning lights apart from the airbag light. I doubt it is in limp mode because ive heard that it would be slow in limp mode whereas my car just seems to be not as quick therefore i assume it has gone back to 180bhp. I have got warrenty on my car with seat so shall i just take it in and not mention the remap? Where could i get my car VAG comed?, i live in west wales.

i would be careful the seat garage don't flash the ecu and wipe the remap off completely. have you tried the garage you had it remapped at to see if they can hook it up to vag.com for you

I got the remap through a custom code mobile agent, so he came to my house. I think he was from JBS Autodesigns which is a fair trek from where i live. I might try phone them and see what they say.

So basically you have messed up and now kicking off you dont have the right power? It isnt C-C fault you cant jump start a car now is it? The title thread is a little vague on the subject, something like "I jumped my car wrongly, now I have errors and a loss of power" would be more realistic?

As above however, find a local garage that can check everything, vag-com and possible power run on a RR would help.

If you do take it back to seat they are going to ask how it was done, as soon as you say you messed up, it aint covered.

I wouldn't say he is "kicking off" nor is he blaming C-C for what happened, he was just stating what has happened and asking what course of action he should take.

After reading it back, I would agree he wasnt kicking off with C-C however C-C hasnt disappeared as stated above. If it had, the car's ECU would be wiped and it wouldnt start at all.

Im simply stating a clear title might have helped and wouldnt attact certain members due to C-C being mentioned.

If I was the OP id get vag-com on it asap, then take it back to the garage that installed C-C and tell them it feels down on power and almost 'standard' again
