OK another suspension thread.

Looking at changing my suspension. Not sure on coilovers or a suspension kit.

What else will need changing as in bushes?

Top munt bushes and bearings should be changed.
But there are lots that could be changed to get the best out of your car.
All depends on how thourough you want to be.

So thats new top mounts and bearings, anti roll bars.

OK then uprated suspension kit or coilovers? I don't need fully adjustable or anything like that. I just want something which is going to lower the car and improve the handling. I don't want the ride to be harsh though.

Stick with what you have as standard then - lowering the car won't nescessarily improve the handling and it definitely won't improve the ride.

I wish i'd kept the standard shocks and springs and just fitted the ARB front and back as that's what made the most difference in my eyes - assuming lowering the ride height isn't top priority :)

As suggested above leave everything else alone and just fit ARB's

Or possibly add the front Audi S3 strut brace too

Do all the other suspension stuff when you have tried the above

without a doubt have a set of jamex coilovers. around £270,

CUPRA R IS same kit as the 2 wheel drive audi tt or a skoda octavia rs if you cant find the cupra r ones. a normall leon kit wont fit due to the anti roll bar.

CUPRA IS same kit as golf mk4, bora a3 and will have no prob finding a kit

coilovers are so much better for ride height and adjustment, the flexability to be able to higher or lower and chose the correct height all round rather than just putting springs on and hoping it looks ok. i have had them on all my cars up to now even a van. for around 270 for jamex and more for a fk or koni kit. ride is superb with my jamex kit. its just like standard cant tell hardly any difference. and you couldnt replace the standard suspension for that price.

replace top mounts and bearings genuine from dealer under £20.

only change anti roll bar if you are planning to go very low.. and no need on cupra r if you were changing due to catching driveshafts because the anti roll bar goes underneath on an r. would only change for handling differences.
