Has anyone with the diane-shop HIDs got any pics of how the lights look at night?

The only thing putting me off diane-shop is that the hids come direct from Hong Kong. Has anyone had to use the warranty?

In the past four years I've only heard of two sets of HID's failing and they both came from HIDS4U ... I've used cheap eBay ones for three years and never had a problem.

With regards to the price also, I don't think you can go wrong. :)

I'll put up a photo of mines when I fit them to the Passat on Saturday, might look a little different as it's coming from projectors though.

^ You shouldnt do that. They take a lot to power up so your putting unneccesary stress on the battery and alternator doing that

Yes I know that, but a mate told me that for example, if you stall and your hids stay on...if you start the engine again it can cause the hids to blow..

I got a battery harness for mine can't actually be sure if this prevents this happening I bought it cos rashcupra of here said it was safer to buy one. The wires are too short on it thou can't hide one of the ballast very well!

turn the hids off, start the engine, turn them back on again

 if you forgot to do that.

I just want to know...if you start the engine with the hids on...will it cause them to blow. If your not going to answer my question then why bother replying?

Doubt it would cause the bulbs to blow, just make them turn off for a few seconds while the engine is crancking over.

Had a bulb go from HIDs4U (kit was 2 years old) , phoned them up 4pm thursday, new bulb arrived friday morning with a stamped addressed envelope to return the old bulb. First class service.

Okay so can see the square ballasts and the bulbs coming off them, you can see the battery harness plugged in to the ballast on the left and a smaller wire coming off it that you earth to the car. these wires trace to the harness (see the big square bit, not the cirled bit) earth that too also staying on the left you see the bulbs are connected to the harness in that wire in the middle. The same on the other side and the bit that's circled is screwed to the battery + and the wire coming of the ballast on the right is attached to the on the battery - (this was missing on the first one they sent me, this is rash's pic!) You may notice the wire in the middle of the pic from the bulb this is not repeated on the other side as you only need to do one side apparetnly.

The problems I have is when the right ballast is attached to the battery is leaves no room to hide the right ballast which is hard enough in the diesel!

sorry to sound dumb but where does this go?

Really fella, Your better ordering the kit and going out to the car with it. Once you see the wiring from the standard bulbs you click on straight away on how the HIDs wire up. It really is plug and play. I was really confused too but I bit the bullet and went for it took about 30mins to fit ;)
