Test drove 1.8t fr and..........

........I was really impressed.

compared to the mk2 2.0 8v gti i have had for the past 1 1/2 years it was a whole league apart. also been for a test drive in a honda civic type r which was great to but with a lack of torque also having to thrash it to get the best from it. If you like that way of driving fair enough but the turbo route seems the way for me.

So with a bit of luck at the end of the month i will be driving round in a 2005 fr and with the spare cash which will be about £1500 im looking for a little more power.

Should be enough for exhaust, dv, remap, and new sports seats. Really wanted a fmic as looks the nuts but think thats going to be a stage 2 thing.

One thing though as im only down the road from wolverhampton i hear p-torque in that way to. more people seem to be opting for revo or custom code over them? is that just down to rep or down to way the cars response after the remap?

I get the feeling that while, in theory, the Honda Civic Type R is the dog's nuts - great for a trackday, if you want to improve it, the really Japanese performance add-on bits are a bit seriously expensive, my daughter's boyfriend loved his and spent a lot of money buying bits for it but it was just too expensive to run as an A>B car and he has gone back to Clio Sports 18* which he says is cheaper in insure, service and keep in petrol.

Without being cruel, I'd expect you'd notice quite a change in the MK4 1.8T from the MK2 2.0 8V as these cars in design terms are 10? years apart.

£1500.00 will get you a full exhaust system and custom mapping no problem

It depends on what rout you want to take realy mate. Handling, power or a little of both.

ptorque map, miltek full system, forge DV, FMIC and your be good for 220bhp might need a little more than £1500 for that lot tho lol

might want to upgrade the brakes to 312mm aswell, standard brakes are naff once remapped

Yep, in standard form they are quite pokey, some nice grunt low down too.
