If you mean the front wishbone rear bush, then yes the Cupra ones are a direct replacement. Part numbers are in the FAQ area

hi im new here but i work for seat and have done for the last 7 years so know a bit about these cars, the rear wishbone bushes are a problem with all the 6L ibiza's the 08 sportrider models went back to the 6k setup due to the bushes always spliting but all the ibiza 6l rear wishbone bushes are the same part the only thing that differs are the springs and the size of the antirollbar, if anyone has any problems please feel free to message me i will add a thred for anyone that has any problems that they need assitance with i will help as much as i can thanks alex.

I don't want to "flame" you, but do you want to change that statement a bit? All Fabia + Polo 9N + Ibiza 6L except the Cupra, are fitted with voided TCA rear bushes and that is what is being discussed here I think. The Cupra presently is the only car using this platform (except the A2) that uses solid TCA rear bushes - I know that this is true because I've checked up on the ETOS parts CD, and I've had the voided bushes on my wife's Polo 9N replaced with solid Ibiza Cupra bushes that I bought from a Seat dealer - the p/n of the voided bushes starts with 6Q******* and has a nylon outer skin whereas the p/n of the solid bushes starts with 6LL******* and has an aluminuim skin.

the outer part of the bushes has no relevance to where the bushes split as it is the rubber that splits in two but ok i wont bother in future, how many of those bushes do you think i have changes in 7 years.

Hummm, well that went swimmingly - NOT!! Can anyone just confirm that what I have said is not complete pants - I'm not trying to be stupid here but that Seat guys facts were way off the mark - but I was just trying to give him a chance to make ammends by offering the fact that he might be talking about the TCA small front bush and the OP was talking about the large voided TCA rear bush. Its a shame really some good inside contacts is what these forums need - avoids getting bogged down in urban myths - but in this case the opposite seems to have been the case - ho hum!!

Just in case you are still "with us", I was completing the bush description by adding the comments about the different outer skins for any one's benefit. The voided bushes will only split or tear at two points - and probably only completely at one point and that point I agree, if that is what you are meaning, will be at the two non voided areas - it obviously can't tear or split where there is no material. Also, I'd hope that you only needed to start changing these bushes about 5 or at the most 6 year ago as the original bushes should have lasted at least a year! One of the safe or cruel things about forums is that when you have maybe made a mistake, and delete your posting, if someone has quoted that posting, that the original posting content will still be viewable! We should always think before we post and aways try to be factual and truthful - otherwise its a complete waste of time.

i think you need to calm down and stop reading ooks and looking at etka or elsa and actually do somethink to the car yourself as it might help and stop u being rude, when i said i have changed lots of those bushes i didnt say the cupra bushes did i. i meant the other style as i dont recall changing any of the cuppra ones i cant comment but in future i think you maby should be a little less full on with your comments i deleted my posting because i couldnt be bothered to argue about something when all i wanted to do was to help someone out so see you arround

Original bushes which are voided have a plastic outer that presses into the arm, cupra bushes are fully solid, no voids and have a metal outer ;)

ok thanks for that ive not come across those style before on not noticed it i shall have a look next time, i think there are sports bushes available for these tho i know that other dealers have fitted these sport bushes as replacment as the genuine ones keep splitting

yeah they split easily especially on the TDi 130's ect, also if you get hold of the wheel and roll it backwards with the hand brake on, you'll be very suprised how much movement there is!
I fitted solid ones for the very reson and it's now solid!

Ah well at least you've come back, its useful to use ETOS because you can look across the VAG similar platform ranges and see if there are useful alternatives to that marques mandated part. That will be the reason why some smart thinking independant VAG specialists managed to work out where to source proper bushes from, and that same cross marque resource is what has guided many DIY upgraders in where to find compatable parts for upgrading. I don't think that you will find that I was trying to be rude in the beginning - it just seems that you could not stand being corrected - and went on the offensive and are becoming a bit trying - cool off a bit and become a useful contributer - we are all human after all.

i have a 1.4 sport 2005. bushes have split. wondering if cupra ones will fit straight in?
and if anyone has part numbers would be much appreciated :p ta

Back on topic, the Ibiza Cupra bushes are a bit trickier to fit, firstly their other skin is aluminium so that is going to be a bit harder to fit into the aluminium console than the original ones with the nylon outer skin - the aluminium surfaces will try to pick-up on each other. One other thing, these bushes are fitted in from the rear of the console instead of the front (they have not got the original bush's rubber extended front part that stops the TCA peg from touching the console). I'd go with the usual way of doing this, which is leave it to a good independant VAG specialist who is willing to fit them as even some Skoda, VW and Seat dealers workshops avoid doing this work due to the possibility of messing it up and splitting the aluminium consoles - the tooling exists to do this job correctly but it still needs someone that knows what they are doing. Also as I keep saying, the car will need four wheel re-alignment afterwards - so a good independant VAG specialist will probably have the latest in alignment benches/rigs and know exactly how to use it. Even good independant VAG specialists that upgrade car a lot do make mistakes, my wife's Polo 9N ended up with one side correct way round the other side in reverse way round - I bought a new bush and took the car back - they swore blind that they could be fitted either way round, until I showed them the new Seat Ibiza Cupra bush I had in my pocket - they had to admit they were wrong then as these bushes inner is offset towards one end so that the inner part does not foul the TCA peg - that was what happened to that car - ie the noises reappeared after a couple of months, but I had worked out that they had done one side wrong and was just dreading going back and telling them that they had made a mistake - but heh, you pay to get a job done properly so why am I always apologising for discovering that things are not right! Normaly I just get around garage mess-ups, but I could not sort that one out myself.

ive never fitted this type only the nylon ones, and didnt know it was possible to fit them from the rear, we do have the tools in our garage to fit the nylon ones which is two metal plates and a long piece of studding that joins either side of the bush on the plates and either pulls the bushes out or pushes them in, i will have to look in to see how the cuppra ones are fitted do you have elsa win the workshop tool like a manual if you do it will tell you in there how the cuppra ones are fitted. i will look at in on monday and post how there are actually done if it is helpful to anyone.
While im here is it possible to get a remapping file from tunning companys as i have the programmes to upload the map but dont have a file i have a 2006 seat ibiza 1.9tdi sport 100bhp p tourque said they maight but still want £195 for just the file

I have only got elsawin for VW and obviously it will not cover fitting the Cupra type one. There is an ex VAG tech on another forum that covered how this was done using the correct VAG tooling, if I remember correctly, this selection of parts not only "helps" the bush in, but also guides it in by locating the lead screw end centrally in the bolt hole for the small front bush bolt - so that it does not start to jam up. There was either a tech or extech or something that started designing unique tools for specific applications - think he called his company "bonus tools", anyway, he made a tool that allowed this voided bush to be replaced while the console was still on the car - and so cutting down the time - but I think that his company has gone. I think that for most DIYers like me, its a job best left to a garage as a lot of re-alignment is needed even if you dont crack the console. I thought about just buying Cupra consoles but that is not an option on a car with only a 5-speed gearbox - so we do need to change the bush to a Cupra one. Either on here or the Skoda forum there are possible details of the bits needing made for the DIYer to do this job though.

Can't say anything about remaps but I'd think that they make it watertight - or you would have seen them on ebay - well that's where most good things can be found!
