Cental Locking Ibiza 1.4s

I have tried to use my key for central locking and it doesnt work think it could be the battery.
Tried opening the door using the key and holding it for 2 seconds, this doesnt open any other doors.
If i do this on the passanger side it opens the door and all other doors including boot.

If i do it at the passanger side the button to open all dors works in the car. If i do it in the driver side the button does nothing.

Any on suggest what i can try.

Had a problem with my drivers side window, tried a different switch but unsure about anything else. Looked for a haynes manual but could only fine one for the 1996-1999. Any suggestions welcome.

read the manual - it will tell you how o recode the key to the car.

Does the red light flash on the key? If so the battery works.

I didnt get a manual the old Idiot who had it from knew lost it : (

Anyone suggest anything else or will the key just need recoding do you think.

What about opening the drivers door but no other doors whilst putting the key in the lock?? It works on the passanger side??

hope this helps, i have a 2001 1.4S, my central locking doesn't work as previous owner damaged the driver side lock, recently had it replaced as temporary fix had been put in before, paid a £70 diagnostic to find out why remote locking still did not work with a new lock barrel, was a complete waste, they coudn't find anything
so just have to live without it
