How to fit an HID kit on an Ibiza Cupra?

Hi Guys,
Can anyone give me some tips on how to fit an HID kit to my Ibiza cupra, I purchased the Ultimate Kit from HIDS4u, the kit looks great, but after having a quick look under the bonnet, there doesn't seem to be alot of room to fit this kit, has anyone already fitted a kit on there Ibiza, did you remove anything first to create more room to fit the kit? where did you put the ballasts?, I need to drill a 25mm hole in the plastic headlight cover, apart from using a 25mm drill bit, which I couldn't find in B&Q and will cost at least £15, what else can I use for this?
Any help would be much appreciated!!

Should be able to get hold of a 25mm hole saw easily enough.

have u got a link for the HID's that you've brought, is something i have been looking at for mine for a while, but havent been sure which ones to get

I have spent alot of time researching the best kit I could find for my cupra, as I didn't want to get a cheap kit and have possible problems or too much glare from them, so the ultimate kit from HIDS4u is pretty much the best one on the market, they recommended this kit for my car, We have named it the Ultimate HID kit as it has been specifically designed for new (2002 on) cars that have sophisticated electronic systems. In many cases these systems are programmed by the manufacturer not to work with the standard HID Conversion kits.

This kit is normally £249, they have it on offer at the mo for £199, but on check out, they have a coupon code box, if you put in the code 'toyota pro' it will knock off another £50:funk:
so thats a top of the range kit for £149:D
I would recommend paying an extra £7.50 with the code to get the upgraded anti-glare bulbs H7R, these are amazing as read on another thread!!
I also purchased there LED side lights, so they would go perfectly with my new HID kit!!!

think im gonna have a look at them as apparently im getting my quarterly bonus this month (presuming i get one) so may have to purchase a set of these!!

im guessing the first link is for the HID units, and the 2nd link is for white LED sidelights????

also, (sorry for the load of questions!!) which ones give off the whitest light?? 5000, 6000 or 8000??

Here is all the info you need to know about which ones to get, this is straight from the HIDS4u site, just for the record, i've gone for the 6000 with H7R bulbs, which are anti glare, nice white light with a slight tint of blue:D

The K (Kelvin) Temperature range is a basic unit of thermodynamic temperature (colour temperature) used to measure the whiteness of the light output. The higher the number is, the whiter the light is. When over 5000K the light begins to turn to blue as daylight.

There are only really 4 colours of HID available, despite the claim of sellers and manufacturers to the contrary. These are Standard factory 4300K (yellowish white), 5000K crystal white with no blue tint, 6000 crisp white light with delicate to moderate blue tint, and 8000K strong blue light. The highest light output is 4300K and the lowest 8000K.

I have been driving with HID Xenons now for many years and as you may have guessed I have tested every combination of Kit, bulb and colour. The following is a summary of my findings (objective as I bought light meters to measure the actual light outputs) and recommendations (both objective and subjective), which most customers agree with:

OEM is 4300K and without a question gives the most amount of light. I have tested dozens of bulbs and compared them all to a Philips D2S bulb as a reference point. The difference between colours and manufacturers is really quite shocking. The best 6000K bulb produced 15% less light than the Philips 4300K - while the worst 6000K bulb was a dreadful 70% less. That said, our bulbs being the best ones with 15% less light in measurable terms, actually produce a very white light with a slight blue tint when you look at them. For every day driving this really is a more pleasant light than the yellower 4300K. as its whiter light is more pleasant and in most driving conditions appears brighter. The reflection from signs and white lines is far better with the 6000K.

If your after the coolest looking Xenons with amazing performance then 6000K is my recommendation.

If you are after the most amount of light on the road then I recommend the 5000K - which is a little whiter than the 4300K whilst having NO blue and very similar light output to the 4300K with our ballasts. For the purists we do have some 4300K bulbs also.

If you are wanting the look of the OEM factory fit Xenons then please remember that the blue is not produced by the bulb, but by the reflector/projector lense. Refraction spilts the colour of the light like a Prism if you remember that experiment from Physics. When you get up close the bulb is actually 4300K with a yellow tinge. 8000K bulbs or higher are not the answer - they produce very little light – up to 70% less than the 4300K and the Police do not like them. Also the blue light is tiring on your eyes and will turn rear number plates Green!

One last thing as proved in our testing, not all manufacturers colour ratings are the same, so please dont try to compare! Some claim 12000K is sky blue!! Wrong - should be purple!!

I havent had chance to fit mine yet and i'm on holiday next week, so probably wont get chance for a few weeks yet, cant wait though:D

cheers mate, will let you know!! i cud probably get them now, but i dont want to leave myself short of funds for next week!

gonna try and get them fitted asap! been looking at getting HID's for a while but havent found a decent set! these seem to be pretty good

That would be great, I had a quick look under the bonnet to see whats what and it looks very tight in there to say the least, would be good to see how everyone else has fiited there HID kits:D

ive done the full hog and removed the complete front end and hidden them completly only bit you can see is the grommet and two wires diapearing immidiatly on the back of the lamp covers.

6000k doesnt give off the standard bluish xennon look so i went for 8000k and theyre not BLUE they are white with HINT of blue look like standard xennons and the diffrence from standard is like day and night ! i bought the kit for around £100 then a battery wiring saftey harness to protect the electonics of the car which was anouther £20 roughly and have had no problems.

I've fitted my FR with Xenons a while back, and while the space is very tight, it isn't a problem at all. I've replaced both bulbs, so there's 4 ballasts in total that needed fixing.
As I dont care much for the look of my engine bay (apart from a wash now and then), I've just stripped mine together 2 x 2 and then tied them to the chassis. They've stuck around for the better of a year now, doubt they're going anywhere anytime soon :)

And the light is just fantastic! I'm using 6K bulbs on my car, it's a bright white light and doesn't attract unwanted attention from the coppers ;-)

Ok, mounted the first ballast on the drivers side to the right of the battery:

Other one was a bit tighter, managed to squeeze it down the side of the fuel pump, mounted it on the bolt for the fuel pump:

Thanks for the pic's Cubias, although it looks like you have alot more room around your battery than I do, I think the batterys on the diesel versions are a fair bit bigger!!!
