hi all,
my leon cupra (2001) has a strange fault, the central locking will not always lock the car, and there is a clicking noise from under the drivers dashboard, i traced this to a black plastic box with two wiring connections (the comfort ecu??) but inside the box is just a circuit board, however i found that if i disconnect the wiring connected to the headlight leveller and dashboard dim lights switch the clicking stops and the central locking works fine, only problem is the lights for the climate control, electric wing mirrors and electric windows do not work so i cannot see them in the dark or know what temp i'm on etc, the unit itself still works as do the windows, mirrors etc.
does anybody have any ideas? a fuse? dodgy "comfort" ecu?? HELP!!!!

The clicking noise sounds like it indicates a suspect relay.

Not sure about whether this is comfort ECU or not ...

sorry for delay in replying, night shift work!
The clicking noise actually comes from a component inside the ecu, so i'm guessing its faulty, is there a way it can be tested? found one on e-bay but it was £85 and if mine can be fixed it may be a cheaper alternative??

Sounds silly, but with 1M Leon CL faults, always carry out a battery reset first!

Just disconnect it for ten minutes.....let me know your findings!

(Please don't laugh....deadly serious).!! lol
