Well i tried bp super and tesco 99, to be honest i can not tell any diff. My mate has the same car as me(leon 20vt) and he uses normal unleaded 95. I can not tell any diff at all. If you look on the inside on the petrol cap it should say on there which to use. mine is 98/95 so i guess it is just what u can afford.

it will make a difference but you need to run more than 1 tank on it. Also the difference will only be a bhp or two but it will help keep the engine clean.

Also to notice the full advantage I think you need your car to be mapped really

It's all in your heads

;)

Saying that, if the local Shell is the same price as the local supermarkets then Shell is what it gets. Just remember though that the most important thing is the freshness of the fuel (i.e. how long it's been in storage) hence it's best to buy from a busy garage with a high turnover, even if it is a supermarket.

My old Clio 172 idled far better on 97/98 RON than 95, but I'd be lying if I say I noticed a difference in performance. And that was an engine where 97 RON or above is specifically recommended.

use the shell credit card and get 3% cash back on shell fuel.
Works out cheaper than tescos then.

(where i live shell unleaded is cheaper than tescos uneladed. V power 1 pence more than tescos.. so with the 3% knocked off the following months bill, v powder is cheaper).

when I used it didnt notice any difference at all.....

try at least 3 tankfuls - and then go back and try a tank of cheap old 95

bet you start thinking your car has gone flat or something wrong with it

don't forget it's not nitrous by any means but will definately run better on it
