Evening,

I've just had my FR TDI on it's first motorway trip to flamingo land. On the way there it managed 57 mpg according to the trip and on the way back 51mpg doing between 60-80 mph.

Are these good figures or should I expect more from it ?

That seems pretty good to me. When I'm on the motor way I get about that I think. Probs a bit less. Between 50 & 55 usually. I've got the same car as you.

A few people on here say the same, I have looked into it and all of them own dervs. I have worked out the average MPG on my petrol FR and it was within 2-3 MPG of what the computer said

BTW I get low 40's MPG from my petrol FR on a 300 mile round trip at 70 on the cruise, I've done the same trip a few times now and every time I get 41-43MPG :funk:

I have found that the longer the journey the better the trip mpg averages out. On my short 6 mile hop to work, if I am a saint, my trip sometimes tells me i have an ave of 60 mpg (as if). I think they put the computer in for fun :D

I found that the trip computer was always very overly optimistic on my FR. If the computer indicated a tank at 64mpg, it was more like 57mpg.

Conversely, the sport is the other way - an indicated 56/7mpg is more like 58mpg - a lot more accurate and always slightly under reading.

Not sure if the software's been tweaked or if it was just another thing that was busted on my FR!
