no locking wheel nut?

hi all! just bought some new tyres , my mate was going to put them on tommorrow for me whilst servicing the car but i havn't got the locking wheel nut. just wondering if anyone else has run into this problem and how they got them off or how easy it was to get hold of a new one, it is a mk 3 cupra 51 plate. cheers

depends if its a seat made locking wheel nut, im not 100% but i dont think they cum as standard so your either going to have to find out the manufacture of the nut or ur going to have to brake it off!!

I'm guessing that you have had the spare wheel out and checked in all the tools etc. So, if as you hope, that they are dealer fit in UK prior to selling, I'd take the car to a Seat dealer (or VW) and get them to use their master key set to identify your locking set "number". Once they have done that they will either sell you that individual key and order up a replacement from Seat with you paying for it, or they will order a new one in for you. This time take a note of the key number and store it along with your car security details. In future, try to remember, even if you are excited when you buy a car, to check that all keys are supplied or promised to supply very soon after you hand over the doss along with any security devices - this means radio codes and alloy wheel "key". You can buy locking wheel nut removers - but most garages just whack an undersized socket on and destroy the locking wheel and maybe the alloy wheel - but sometimes "needs must"!

machine mart do a bolt grip set for about £25 quid that should get them off no problem. I bought a set from them about a month ago to remedy exactly the same problem - I removed 4 locking wheel nuts in about 15 mins without any damage to the wheel. I even managed to return the tools and get my money back when I was finished with them, ha!:p

it's like a socket with a backwards cutting thread inside it, you just hammer it on a bit then undo it with a wrench.

cheers boys! got it to the garage and they eventually got them off and just replaced them with standard bolts and tell i fit some new wheels, i should really pay more attention when i buy a car. soon be off my l plates hopefully, test in 2 weeks.
