Majority dont use HIDs as main due to the time they take to 'strike' and get to full brightness, makes flashing people a pain. Im sure someone has hids in the fogs though, H3 for unlit backroad driving

Flashing people is fine in the high beam, it's the time it takes them to "warm up" to use as main beam.
I used to get around it on my old car by pulling the stalk towards you to start charging them them up, them push the stalk forwards to use them.

I don't think i'll bother with them in high beam again, ok they were simply amazing (imaging night stage rallying and increase the brightness ;)) compared to dipped but you rarely use them.

4300k in dipped and 6000k in mains. SMT leds for sidelights and they're a perfect match

Ok mine are projectors for main and dipped but you get the idea in terms of colour - and as above, they are amazing at night. I don't bother flashing people anymore , although if you do, just hold the main beam stalk for 3 seconds as opposed to a quick flash as you'd do on halogen bulbs.
