Found some Cheap 19MM tube coolant hose, im gona replace that waste pipe, purely because it looks shite. I suppose i could afford a catch tank.... Did you return to intake ultra joel?

Steam/vapour wise, ive been on a run today (freezing!) and there isnt much tbh, a constant stream, but not enough to emerge from under the bonnet.

No its not returned to the intake on the advice of devonmikeyboy.

UncleFester - I can't see there being a problem with the breather filter getting clogged. Its been on around 600 miles since packing the can more tightly and is still clean as a whistle - no blackening of the cotton filter element.

On the less tightly packed can, the breather filter had blackened within 80 miles.

Nice one, that's what i was wanting to hear - i've just ordered an anodised black version of your tank - got some 19mm oil hose from the last attempt and will plumb it in this weekend. Is yours purely venting to atmosphere from the breather filter?

Yes it is mate.

I'm actually using 16mm hose on the inlets to the tank, 19mm was a bit big I found, but others may find its no problem, I stepped down from 19mm off the crank case vent using a small brass adaptor I found laying about.

When the engine is running I get a bit of white smoke from the breather filter, it was a bit worrying at first but I've been ensured its just water vapour and sump fumes escaping through the breather filter.

I've also turned my EGR down with VAG COM.

Stuck my finger inside my EGR other day, there is a thin film of oily residue but no build up of crap, car has done 43k.

I read on a couple of sites that relieving crank case pressure can increase horsepower, is this true?

Also, can a CCV bypass prolong turbo life?

sorry if this is a stupid question and has already been answered, but cant you just block the oil pipe off at the top of the rocker cover and same with the air intake pipe?

This isn't the "easiest" way - Mine's definitely easiest. Cap off, pipe out the back. Job done. :) You can barely even see it but it's just a piece of water hose attached to the oem pipe on the rocker cover.

so basically just drops out onto the floor?

It's cable tied onto the back of the subframe. Sure I'm not a green kind of guy - seen the amount of smoke mine lobs out the exhaust? :cartman:

I did it for simplicity and effectiveness. As already shown the amount of oil that actually comes out is miniscule so the risk of me leaving an oil slick in my wake is nil basically. It was cheap, easy, effective - Just how I like my derv mods. [B)]
