When i first got the problem i phoned only to ask if they had heard of any kind of issue and they seemed to just fob me off with the 'no nothing' line, to the point where i just thought if thats how its going to be then fine!

Went to the garage to talk to them about it and straight away they said to me wrong kind of nuts for the manifold!

Then i get a call from them on Tuesday when the cars in to say the studs are wrong too, they are too long!

Left it with them to sort out, and fix it their way, get it back new bolts and studs on everything and its perfect :D

RIGHT[:@]

they did exactly the same with me. Did not want to hear it, were not interested and fobbed me off too

im gunna call Simon at AMD on monday first thing and see what he says again, and hopefully the nuts are still about to see for myself

once I have put something together, I will be moving towards the official complaint route

how does Trading Standards work?

isn't it on the basis of goods supplied which are not fit for purpose?

perhaps some good news at last! I sure deserve it

just spoken to Simon, the car is almost done and should be ready for tomorrow, fingers crossed

at the same time the cambelt is done, and the water pump was leaking so this has too been replaced

the tabs have just literally turned up on my desk from INA as well (what a result, thanks chief) so dropping this round to Simon's tonight to be fitted tomorrow

really really pleased about that, as I wanted these fitted which I think will massively help

is there light at the end of the tunnel? I will tell you all later on this week

again, fingers crossed it might make it to Bills on the 2nd :)

well she is back, done and dusted

car feels great, and great to have her back too. AMD have done a fantastic job

the car was put back together yesterday, but for some reason was only boosting to .6 bar.....

Simon thought it was a boost leak at first, but this was ruled out. it turned out to be a faulty N75 valve! strange that it was working fine, but then decided to fail, but all good now

now onto Bills on the 2nd :D

happy days

cheers guys

new bolts are high tensile stainless steel so they wont be coming loose (better not be)

only way to do it was to take the head off and fit it this way, it must have been how p-torque did it

Rob, how did Star do yours?

I'm pleased you got it all sorted mate. 99% of people do not remove the head to fit a mani though, although it does make life alot easier.

well I have been driving the car round now for a few days and all is going well so far, but it seems to be popping ALOT more

this started happening when the turbo and mani came loose, which Simon stated was a symptom of this issue with it popping, due to leaking air, possibly over fueling etc and causing the popping

BUT the car is still popping, and I mean really popping upon wind down between revs - what could this be?

car is boosting fine, no issues at all.....should I be concerned about this? I have had mapped cars in the past and they do pop from time to time, but not this much surely? possibly over fueling still? fuel consumption seems to be ok though:blink:

mine does not pop at all unless balls out and quickshifting fuel on the overrun? somethimes mapped in depends in injectors and fuel pressure needed

Mine pops rarely. Maybe on the odd occasion between 2nd and third. I think you can dial it out to an extent with unisetting or similar.

Mine pops and crackles all the time, ever since I had the Piper exhaust fitted, never used to do it with the Supersprint.

thing is though, mine is the same setup, it has had the Blueflame exhaust all along and did not pop this much and now it does

I will see if anyone from the London meet this Saturday can do some logging for me

what log should I be looking at?

alryt mate, i have read all of this thread today... glad 2 hear its bak on the road after all the issues u had!

At the very least, u have learnt alot about ur engine and tuners now, and when u do go for more power (which u will:D) u will have a much better understanding!

Sometimes I wish I just got a 2nd hand rs4 instead but when its all working in harmony even if for just 1day a week it makes it all worth it!!

Atleast if it pops u know the fuelling is there?!

Maybe its running properly now rather than the first time u had this setup on the road?

HI fella

you have read all this thread today...

learnt alot....thats an understatement lol!! no it's all good and great for future reference when I go proper BT and seek around 400bhp....

this is just a progressional step to bigger numbers!

I know what you mean, its so frustrating when it breaks, but as soon as you get it back and it's working you know why it was worth the wait....and the pain!

hopefully it will be running completely right come Sunday when Bill looks at it:D
