****** UPDATE 15th OCTOBER ******

Well the car has gone into Seat today for 70k service, and..... the judder is back...

The guys really are getting no help from SEAT TECHNICAL either, and are shocked its come back, same side too.

Last time it went in for two weeks they replaced disk, pads, and HUB & Bearing, stripped down the caliper and its perfect. They wish they could have a donner car to take caliper off and put onto mine and test.

they are going to look again today, and I think I may be facing buying a brembo caliper... out of curiosity how much would a caliper cost from a dealer, or another supplier?

I see from Junior £225...where from?

ANY thoughts what it might be?
Pm'd rely

Thanks Junior.

I have just come back from the garage, had a long chat with service manager and the technician whose been working on it.

Seat Tech support - What on earth are you there for, one of your dealers asking for help and all you can do is say, go with what you think, and let us know when you've resolved, that’s appalling [:@]

Anyway, they’ve done everything measuring the brake pressure to see if there’s any anomalies, moved bits around, measure things, had a infrared thermometer on it... the list is endless :headhurt:

One thing came out; it’s the INSIDE of the DISC that’s getting all the grief, its blue in color. Theyre thinking its the caliper .... so... next thursday it goes back in, oh and new discs will be put on at same time too

If its the inside of the disc this could point toward the outside pistons sticking
Thus meaning its only the inside pistons that are slowing the car down

Would have said the opposite. Blue disc indicates scorching, so it would seem to me that inside pads are permanently incontact with disc due to pistons not retracting.

Evening All,

Well, the car is back in at Seat to diagnose Disk Warping...on the nearside front

I've had the following done so far;

Wheel HUB & Bearing (NSF)
NEW DISCS & PADS on Front (5 lots so far)!:-o
NEW Calipers - recent

Since new calipers fitted, the warped disc problem has disappeared from the NSF and moved itself over to the OSF

They are now going to put some type of measuring device on the calipers to measure the pressure/movement of each caliper - not sure what it’s called?

When they found the warping had moved over, they measured disc & pads, and its clear the osf is wearing allot more than the NSF.

There is definatley a HEAT Dissipation problem here, but whats causing it???

They are also going to replace brake hoses / pipes, drain fluid out of the system completely, and then refill.

I’m wondering if anyone has any IDEAS>?

Cheers,
Mark

Any IDEAS.....

Stumped

Having re-read this entire thread again, i see that new calipers have already been fitted. What ate the chances of getting a duff set of replacement calipers?? Rather slim i feel. Obviously with out putting your old calipers on another car you cannot confirm that there is no problem there 100%. It seems to me that the only thing that hasn't been changed in the braking system is the master cylinder. People usually just think of these a working or not, but if there is a leak in one channel, it could in theory be applying pressure to one channel even when the brakes are off. It would not take much pressure to keep the pad in contact with the disc, and any amount of continual pressure will cause scorching.

Beyond this i am stumped!!!

As above really

What they are doing wit changing the pipes etc should help
The only other thing I was thinking of was debris floating about in your pipe causing an intermediate blockage on its travels.
If it is this then the above chnges hopefully will help
