Hi friends,
So I want to mod my Cupra (arriving next week)!

I'm thinking of the following:

1. 76mm Downpipe
2. Divertor Valve (Forge? Any other? My Forge DV on my Fr got jammed recently-only 10months old)
3. Fuel Pump (Which one exactly?)
4. Software ie Remap
5. S3 intercooler

I'd appreciate any other ideas and advice on the products you feel work well for you.

Thanks;)

revo reflash is the only thing you need with all that you gain even more the s3 intercooler is the same you have in the cupra so forge twincooler for the s3 is your best bet

S3 intercooler isn't the same as the Cupra mate, it is smaller and the S3 intercooler is seen as a necessary mod if you are going for biggish power (330+).
With all those mods listed, it would be very nicely sat at well over 300 mate.

i will check with the cupra we have in the shop changing the fmic for the apr one to see if its the same as the S3 i dont believe they will release a intercooler design for only 1 model of car.

Already been verified mate. Cupra and Edition 30 Golf's share their intercooler components with smaller core with plastic style endtanks.

However the Audi S3 has a slightly larger intercooler with larger internal core and alloy welded endtanks.

The APR one is bigger still with larger core and has cast alloy endtanks.

the one here in the cupra si exactly the same as the s3 with metal end tanks like the one in the picture above

and the APR is massive in comparision sadly is damn expensive too

Interesting, they must be using different components in different markets around the world. Certainly in the UK they are not the same as the S3.

Thx for all the info....

So S3 intercooler or APR intercooler?? Part number for S3 one u using in UK?

Forge CAI IMHO is not workin too well for me on my FR with aerodynamic kitt due to insufficient airflow and poor intake air temps of about 40 degrees celsius.

Will check for availability of APR products here in SA. just heard my Cupra is ready for collection!!!!

Remap alone will see 300bhp.

350bhp is possible with proper exhaust (like Milltek for example), uprated fuel pump (like KMD for example), intake (like Dbilas for example) and uprated intercooler which it sounds like you have already, but in the case that you have the S3 intercooler, APR do a bigger one and Forge do the twintercooler which would work with your OEM intercooler. Code is available from various sources like Revo, APR and CC.

Hey, nice to find you here bru.......

I'm doing my mods in this sequence:
Should be good for 350Hp+ (200wkw +)

1) 76mm DP + Decat
2) CAI (Forge/ Evoms/ DBilas)
3) Software
4) DV / Blow off Valve
5) FMIC (S3 or APR)
6) Uprated Fuel Pump
7) Water Methanol injection

And Bob's ur uncle.
Could be quite expensive...But oh so worth it!

Sorry just a quick question, with over 300bhp aren't you going to struggle to lay that power down quickly ? Also isn't the traction control \ ESP going to cut in even if switched off as most cars you can turn it off but it does not actually turn off fully ?

The accelerator pedal isn't an on/off switch. You just alter how you feed the power in. In the dry its far less of an issue, in the wet it can be more eager to spin up the tyres if you really plant it.

The chassis handles the extra power extremely well, improvements such as good suspension and good rubber it can handle 300+hp just fine, they are a heavy old hector anyway so that helps keep everything well planted.

But a lot of it comes down to the squidgy bit behind the steering wheel. If you try and tank it everywhere then it will spin all the time and never get the power down. Learn to feed in the power and be smooth with the accelerator and gear changes and its great fun.

Even when you push it though they are very easy to control and use day to day. They drive very much the same as they did before a remap in all honesty. Low down the way mine delivers it's power to the road is no different than before making it just as easy to make the daily commute in traffic or to the shops at, as it is when i stretch it's legs.

Ah, I was always led to believe that 220/230 bhp was the maximum theoretical limit for a front wheel drive car in terms of usable power.

Does the Cupra suffer from Torque steer or are they pretty well balanced ? Only reason I ask was I used to own a Mk2 Clio 172 and this suffered badly with it due to the drive shaft being different lenghts and having a fair bit of power..
