:lol:With you on this one poverty there must be, this surley is the fr in drag:p Must admit i looking at the abarth 500 ss at mo the cupra just does nothing for me ,seat at least should bring out the boc front end as a option.

yeah the 500 abarth SS is a real hothatch not like this half hearted cupra.

Remember the leaked SEAT model line up? Well it did say the FR ibiza would be out in march, and funnily enough, now this "cupra" is available from march and no FR model in sight. I reckon the cupra is the new FR, and a faster cupra r or something will come along in july/august 09 ;)

Agree, I also think there will be a cupra r but I don't think it will be a 2.0t, more like a 1.8tsi with about 200ps :D

Seat axed the Cupra R line. I don't see why they would bring it back now (they didn't for the Leon). They might bring out a Cupra with a different engine, but I wouldn't expect anything else. Have they announced a diesel model yet?

no news on the diesel front. Thing is the 140 TDI would be slower than the MK4 cupra TDI, and the 170TDI would make the 1.4 TSI cupra slow.

I reckon we are gonna see a model above the cupra for the leon also. 4WD rumours wont die and I think we could see a audi S3 equivelant once the RS3 arrives, if it does.

I doubt we'll see a cupra r. I was thinking they might actually just release the boc with 200bhp. It's been said many times how overwhelmed seat were with peoples reactions to it.

which is why it should have been made as an option for the cupra, i am going to get the dealer to give me a black front end when i order mine

The abarth's I had were ALL under a 1ltr - 660cc, 750cc TC and a 850cc TC were very quick and loud !!, but engine reiabilty was poor [ not like todays build though - would'nt mine the limited build 180hp version with possible 4x4]

Looks good.. and good engine choice.

Only thing im not too keen on.. the DSG box being standard... and its measly 180lb/ft torque rating, which limits tuning potential :(

ummmmm, i'm not sure about this new cupra, the look of it is growing on me, but a 1.4, yes it has 176bhp, but you are going to have to work it so hard to get the best out of it, fuel consumption wont be that great because you will be screaming the tits out of it, as for a diesel version, I dont think they will bring one out, because if they do, and it's the same power as mine or better, then it will just show up this petrol version, and it would be crazy to bring out a new diesel cupra with less power than the MK 4, what would be the point in that?????
This new Ibiza Cupra is dissapointing for me  Seat should have gone for it and produced a 200+bhp unit, just to keep up with the competition, this does not do the Cupra brand justice, I just hope they have something up there sleeves, maybe a Seat Ibiza Cupra K1 with a 220bhp petrol and a 200bhp diesel!!!!
Now thats what we are talking about!!! :D:D:D:D

i been waiting for the release of this. I am supprised at the performance. I may even consider a Corsa VXR now. never thought i would say that.

Wouldnt go that far, yes the corsa had more power, but it cant use it all to save its life!

Not sure I agree with that comment, from what I have read and watched the corsa can give the clio 197 a right little fight on the track, which is surprising.

 would that be quattro style 4WD? Also, this cupra seems pretty special to me, there's not too much cosmetically to say it, but you have to admit that Seat seem to be the only manufacturer thats designing GOOD looking cars, so to make a 'special' edition seems slightly pointless.

it looks good, but its just missing that knockout feature which would be the 2.0TFSI.

4WD leon would be haldex. Slightly off topic, but audi have just introduced their latest generation of quattro in the new S4, and well its as good as the R8, and better than the RS4.
