Hi,
im thinking of getting an N75 valve J ive done a search on it and i cant really get a good opinion on it, some say its good some say its rubbish? with the spec of my car do you think i would benifit from this valve or should i save my money and keep the standard one!

Also read they have to be fitted the other way????

Also how much would a J cost from a dealer, you can pick them up of the bay for around £50

thanks in advance

i have the j or h valve.hade 0,8bar with f and hitting 1,2-1,4bar.did get my car in limp mode some times but i fitted a boostcontroler and now hitting 1bar.as i just have a remap.the presure comes harder from 0,5bar on mine.mine valv is fitted like f valve.its no partnumber on mine and its brown.you just have to try it and see if it works.on someone it will not work.

o right thanks for the info tarzan, think i might give the j ago, just wondered what other people with m3 were running coz when i searched all i could find what them fitted to LCR

my crap contribution to the thread mike is your right and they do go on the other way. Like Tarzan said they seem a bit hit and miss. I remember when i was having those boost issues i was looking at one and doing searches on here but was tending to find the same answers as you, some work some dont, nout definate so decided against it. Didnt know whether it was worth it as i thought it may of been one of those small things that just causes more probs in the long run. Advantage is for you though if it does go to pot i suppose you can easily rectify it :D

i think we just need to know the difference between the j and h valve.

i'm sure one increases boost, and the other makes the boost last longer? or soemthing like that!

okey thnx mate, so is there anything to gain for me to fit a J or H valve instead? on nearly stock engine, only re-mapped.

Now loading around 10psi I think.

I just looked at the vwvortex forum and think the H valve gives a higher peak boost
And the J valve gives a smoother boost longer out the register.

hit or miss, personally i say miss

tried a J and it changed jack ****

i advise going in with an open mind but dont let your head become clouded by judgement and then come on here saying its amazing and you got some much more boost like people do with the n249 valve bypass

Well i fitted my N75J valve today!!!

The thing i found with it is that you dont fit it the other way round because it doesnt work. I fitted it the same way my old one came off but the valve is different in looks if you put it side by side with the standard C valve. The J valve is built facing the other way.

Anyway the car boosts fine with no surging or flat spots like before. I couldn't test it that well because it was wet and just spinning up but when i put my foot down it 5th underload at around 50mph, it peaks to 24psi, its never gone over 20psi before so i was please and it held more boost for longer aswel. No limp mode at the mo ether so im happy and will be keeping the J

Hope this sheds abit more light for people
