K1 cupra is cheaper to insure than a plain old cupra.
FR550 theroefore should be cheaper to insure than a FR TDI.
How can the more tinkered with more sporty looking model be less to insure? I really don't get that. I thought best case scenario would be that it cost the same no? How the heck does that workout otherwise? Also I was just meaning between a plain FR & one with the body kit not necessarily the 550..

It's because once it has the big bulky plastic Aero kit on it is classed as a Seat Van, therefore is cheaper
Jokin
Its crazy - seems to vary between brokers - spoke to a customer whose insurer counted his BTCC kit as 6 different mods - front bumper, rear bumper, skirts, tailgate spoiler, exhaust, wheels. Thats just taking the p**s SEAT should have done the kit from the factory and made it a listed model. Thankfully I have a small local enthusiastic broker who I can actually talk to sensibly
I'm up for renewal on my Ref Sport with Aero Kit, same old nonsense of what constitutes modification, Churchill just went from £319 to £670 when I mentioned the factory fitted kit.
Anyway for reference the second best quote I got on Confused.com was LV, I've just checked their Q&As and....
"You asked…
Are factory fitted options classed as modifications to my car?
Answer
No factory fitted options are not classed as modifications. A modification is anything made after the car leaves the factory that alters the standard specification or the appearance of the car."
Job done I believe.
only your car didnt leave the factory with the kit . . . . . . . . .
Neither do the K1s. All kits are fitted at the port of entry so technically aren't Factory fitted.
Can of worms time.

What is "port of entry" ?
Who will have fitted my kit if not in the factory ?
