warranty on coilpacks???

sorry to butt in

ive just got my hands on fours sets of brand new vag coilpacks for the cupra r

the part number is slightly diffrent tho?

basicly all i want to know is will the coilpacks ive just bought work fine with my 225 BAM engine?

my coilpack numbers are

VW AG

06A 905 115 A

and the new ones are

VW AG

06B 905 115 L

will these work ok?

on a website i seen that the ones i bought are ment to be newer ones brought out by vw to sort out problems with earlyer ones? is this true?

hope so or ill have four set or coilpacks to have as ornaments lol

yes mate it same on my lcr and they are mixed and match but runs like a dream!!

some of those numbers on the coil pack boxes are batch numbers!! so dont worry! coli pack will look identical to your old ones!!

when you change coil packs over always mark wich is old and wich is new so you dont get them muddled up!!! cheers..................

If your on original coilpacks then its 5 years, tell him to phone SEAT customer services to check and don't give up until he does

its a good idea to replace the spark plugs aswell because a plug starting to break down can cause the coil packs to fail

I think that's duff information.

I don't think spark plug condition has any bearing either. People have reported coil packs failing at random times all over the forum. Including not long after having new plugs fitted, changing the oil, pressing the horn or inflating the tyres.

For my Ibiza Cupra 1.8T 2002 they were covered for 5 years, I went into a dealer and got 2 replaced for nothing. 3 Weeks after 5 years had passed they wouldn't replace them...maybe the Ibiza and the Leon had different warranties on them

i think one of my coil packs has gone. was driving a minute ago an engine light came on a circle light as well would this indicate a coil pack problem, i have also lost power an sounds like a missfire... cheers guys
