Restrictions in Boost Gauge Tubing

Hello all.

Can anyone tell me what to use as a restriction for my boost gauge tubing as its buzzing.

I currently have a nut and bolt between two ring connectors tighened over the tubing just behind the gauge and it has reduced the noise but not eliminated it completely.

Ive tried a hair pin in the tubing (doesnt work) and blue tack with a pin ***** through it (doest work)

Thanks

Ok. Mine came with a inline reducer. You could always use one of those 'T' pieces and blank off the other port.

Or don`t buy cheap shite and get a well made gauge next time either mechanical or better still electric microprocessor controlled gauge like an SPA.

Hi there mikeyboy. You are right looking back I should have gone for an electronic gauge however they are £100+, don't match my Skoda Green dash lights and I've already drilled the intercooler pipes.

I looked at VDO gauges and Blitz etc but they were just too expensive at £75-£150, and from several articles I've read they arent any more accurate and still suffer from the rattle.

The swoosh one seems to be reading fairly accuratly considering it cost only £32 (peaks at 20-21psi in 3rd gear, holds at 19-20 then drops to around 16 psi at the redline).

I physically needed green though as I've got a Slowda Fartbia aRSe

I've sorted it temporarily, I've got a 3mm hose connector shoved it full of bluetac and poked a sewing needle through it, no more buzzing!

I've contacted Awesome about an inline restrictor just waiting to hear back from them - should sort the problem for good.

I just got a short length of the silicone vacum hose, slit it down one side and put it over the hose. Clamped it tight at both ends with a little cable tie and it works just fine and can be tightened in little bits until it works ;)
