after about 10 mins of driving when i put the indicators on they dont flash, but still light up, this happens on both sides and when i put the hazzards on, turning the engine off and back sorts it out but only for a short time, and can be a bit dangerous at night. any one know what could be wrong?

Last time I had problems with the indicators it turned out to be a dodgy indicator stalk. In my case the lights worked when you move the indicator stalk to signal either the left or right. When you canceled the signal the lights stopped by the indicator 'clicky' sound continued. Same this was also true if you turned the hazards on/off.

I also remember the dealer saying something about a signalling control module (can't remember the exact phrase, it was a while ago now) but this turned out to be working fine and was just following the dodgy indicator stalk.

Also just remembered that it took three replacement stalks to fix the issue - the dealer blamed bad parts QC - A bit worrying if 60%+ of approved spare parts pass QC and are faulty from the get-go.

if it's constant then it's the relay in the alarm control box (contacts have stuck together) you cant fix it but it may go off if you tap the control box lightly, else you will have to do what i do to all the others and cut the wire that comes from the alarm to the offending indicator. dont worry it will not affect the normal indicators so long as you do it close to the alarm box and insulate the loose ends of the wires.

I do a lot of miles in my cars, mostly in and around towns, hence using indicators very often. This problem has happend in all my cars and it steams from over use of the indicator stalks. all you need to do is take them out and clean them. the build up of small particles mixed with grease build up makes the contacts touch. you will understand what i mean when you take them out to look at them? dont forget to put grease back on them when finished cleaning.
