Running Rough

The LCR seems to be running a little rough on idle for the last couple of weeks.

Is it likely to be one of the sensors?

Prob the most vague post ever, what do you mean by rough, is it lumpy, hunting, close to stalling, just not smooth?
What else is wring, does it only do it at idle? You got full power at all other times?
You had it on a VAGCOM yet? Take it no to be honest, put a request in the VAGCOM section.

mate had this could be coil packs

Coilpacks are normally to blame for misfire, not running rough? Right?

Engine coolent temp senser, or MAF id say most likely culprit

I've recently done the coolent temp sender so thinking it could be MAF?

Yeah I guess I have been vague... I only really notice a rough tickover although there does occasionally feel like a loss of power through the midrange.

It's not really hunting but yes, a little lumpy. The revs don't seem to fluctuate but it seems to cause a little more vibration through the car then it previously did. I have a fairly recently dogbone bush so a little vibration is expected but this is very diesel like...

How about a mucky MAF? I know mine is only a 1.6 but for 3 quid i got some carb cleaner and boosted it up the intake, ran loads better, smoother idle etc?

Might be worth a go.

Hmm, I actually have the same problem with my car. It's a TDI though...

My problem is a loss of power occassionally over 3000 rpm (usually when flooring the car), no errors on Vagcom. It feels as if someone is slamming the brakes on, and I think it makes a noise like a slipping belt...

It also stalls sometimes when it is cold.

Any ideas?
